Senshi-Hakusho: They Don't Make Droids Like They Used To [Episode 100040]

by Philip Weigel

Grumbling as he zig-zagged through the streets of Tokyo, a short man wearing a black body suit, with a bandanna across his forehead and long spiky hair had to wonder why he was out here.

Okay, he KNEW why he was out here.

Urameshi's mother and girlfriend were both dead.

The thought of someone as powerful as Yusuke going off the deep-end and murdering a lot of people bothered the Fire Demon for some reason.

And personally, while Hiei didn't care about a whole lot of people, Yukina, his blue haired Ice Spirit of a sister, being a notable exception, the Fire Demon could admit that he had grown... Tolerable of Urameshi's presenece. 'Who the hell am I kidding? He and the others are my friends. Even if we constantly bicker and argue about everything.'

Sighing as he stopped on top of a building, Hiei scanned the horizon. Hopefully to either feel out Yusuke's aura, or at least find something to entertain him for a bit. He blinked as he saw something about a block or so away. "Hello? What is this?" Narrowing his eyes, he could see a giant black crystal pillar of some sort, and a crab-like female monster near it, sucking up energy. "Well now. Can't have that. After all, I'm the one who's supposed to take care of the humans. Not some weak creature like that."

Shrugging his shoulders, Hiei quickly made his way over to the distrubance. It only took him 1.8 seconds at the, for him, slow jogging speed. When he got there, he raised an eyebrow. "You know, I thought that you might have been a challenge. Even my old associate Goki was a stronger fighter than you."

He smirked as he got the Crab-creature's attention. Now that he was closer, he could see some small tentacles on her scissor claws. 'Hmm, probably uses those to suck energy from the humans.' The tentacles were white with some light blue circles on them. The crab was a light orange on top with white legs on the bottom.

All-in-all, it was more flash than substance to Hiei. Even as the thing charged in as fast as it could, to Hiei, it looked like the creature could have been standing still for all he cared. Reaching his right hand behind him and under his black coat, Hiei gripped his sword, before running past the Droid's right side, slicing the monster in half. "Heh, too easy. Even that fool Kuwabara could have handled you with ease."

Hiei did raise an eyebrow as the creature turned to dust. He shrugged and turned to the black crystal. "Well, that's strange. It's gone now." He shrugged, but wondered if that Crab-creature was the source of the crystal, before taking off.
