It was a normal morning in Eternos, the sun was shining on the Eastern horizon, the grand citadel gleaming white against the red mountains in the distance, and Prince Adam was still asleep in bed. Since it had since rung nine bells and King Randor was growing impatient, Teela was sent to fetch the young heir to Eternia.
Adam's suites were adjacent to the King and Queens and across the main hall from her own (since she was being groomed to become captain of the guard she was given rooms in the Royal Apartments), so Teela didn't bother putting on her full military regalia. Instead, she wore a cream singlet and soft slippers. A waffled military-issue tanktop was clearly visible under the thin cotton gown as were her pale blue undershorts. Honestly, why couldn't the royal son learn a lesson from her and wake at a normal hour? It wasn't like her father wouldn't whip-up another alarm clock just for him...
Such thoughts left her as she pushed open the grand doors to the prince's bedroom. The drapes were still shut, casting the room in darkness, but she could see the shape of Adam under the covers and the dark lump of Cringer curled at the foot of the bed. Smirking to herself, she tossed back her long red hair (currently not in her normal ponytail) and tore the dark drapes open.
"Time to get up, Prince! It's past nine bells!" She grabbed the edge of the blanket and yanked...hard.
In the middle of the bed, where her prince 'should' have been, lay a very naked redhead with her hair in a braided ponytail. Teela absently noted that she was a natural redhead before scowling. How dare he go off and...and...and...screw around behind her back! The young soldier pulled her serpent staff from the waistband of her shorts and extended it with a 'sheenk' of metal. Oh, when she found Adam he'd have a lot of explaining to do...
