Suddenly the Minbari cruisers were shaken for the Particle blasts what the "Vanguard" had fired to them.
"What the hell is happening!" cursed Kalain.
"One of the ships of the unknown fleet it's changing his position and is firing against us!" answered the officer.
Kalain said then."Launch the Nials now! They must take down EarthForce One while the cruisers distract the enemy."
"Understood"
From the sides of the three Sharlin, departed the fourty-five Nial figthers with his familiar triangular shape to the encounter of EF-ONE, at the same time, what all the cruisers turned back to confront the Vanguard.
"Commander Cain , the Minbari reacted as expected and are in route to the Vanguard sir." announced the Sensors officer of the Pegasus.
Cain, a rarity in the REF due to his almost sixty-nine years, smirked and said from his position in the command deck."Allright, move the ship to the crossfire zone and prepare to fire the Reflex cannon at full charge. I want those morons reduced to more pieces than the Regent in Optera, understood?
"YESSIR!" screamed all the crew over the deck of the Valivarre class battlefortess. Even if the cannon was only an eight of the full capacity of the Twin Cannons of the SDF-3, that was enough to deal with three cruisers.
The pilot of the Nial observed with anticipation the familliar shape of the EarthForce One growing in his sight and readied to accomplish his mission.

The President vas taking this with a calm but fatalistic attitude and a good dose of black humor.'Heh, i've survived the elections and the end of the world only to be killed for a group of rebel Minbari.......well i had a good life and at least we can say what i'll be remembred as a honest president with a REALLY short period and....What are those streaks?' his thoughts derived to the white streaks what were aproaching to the triangular Nials what suddenly begun to explode one after another.
One of those blurs defined into a white and black fighter never seen for him before, a Vindicator what along with another one begun to fly a both sides of EF-ONE, escorting his ship. An asesor aproximated to him with a huge face of relief to say what they were saved."I can see that with my eyes" muttered with a strange mix of irony and relief.
The Nials were almost as fast than the Vindicator who had a better maniobrability, but the factor what sealed the fate of the Minbari was the hands behind the controls of the ships. While the Minbari had some experience the pilots of Skull especially Max and Miriya Sterling, had a combat experience of almost 30 years in space against almost any kind of fighter and mecha imaginable.
"Well they fight almost like the Invid, you don't think that dear?" said Max to his wife while he unleashed a barrage of HammerHeads against a pair of Nials, what dissapeared in a cloud of plasma. "Yes, but they have a bit more of intelligence than them." replied Miriya while she blowed another Minbari fighter with a Particle Gun blast.
"Skull, SDF-3 here. how is the situation there Skull?" asked Lisa.
"Good, only rest for destroy twelve of them" answered Max.
"Ok Max, let the rest of the squad to dispose of the Minbari fighters and you and Miriya go to act as backup if some of the Sharlin survive the attack from the Pegasus, understood?" said the wife of Rick.
"Roger" said both pilots.
