schiiiiing! clang! clash!"A ninja's service in life - is death!"
"Vengeance cries out in the dark emptiness of my heart. This place shall be your grave, ninja!"
"Ooooooh!" said Tajra and Tarja as the picture box (TV) showed the ninja facing the clan master.
"Urrkkkkk!""To live in shadow, to die in shadow - it is the fate of the ninja."
"We were allies through this battle, ninja. You are now bereft of clan, but you have walked in honor. What will you do?"
"What I have always done, samurai. I walk alone. Perhaps we will meet again someday, though whether we be allies or enemies - only fate can say."
(sniffle)
"Ooooh, they walk off in opposite directions in front of a setting sun," said Tajra, wiping tears. "Beautiful."
"They really captured the noble following of warrior code that epitomizes the samurai," agreed Tarja. "I think I'll have to practice that 'Dance Of The Evasive Swallow' manuever."
The decision had been made in a corporate boardroom where people who had multiple degrees and darn little practical experience met. It had taken place three months before in the retroactively aligned past, and the people involved had taken it quite seriously.
"There are schools like Furinkan Senior High School which has a mediocre student body but a few really bad apples that drag the rest down," argued one of suited figures.
"For the children's sake, for their education, that can't be allowed to continue," said another, her glasses glinting dangerously.
"This is true, but are we sure this is the best method?" The oldest of the group, feeling particularly old due to the comparitive youth of the others, felt obliged to speak out. "Putting them all together like this?"
"It serves the greater good, with the troublesome elements moved out of the greater group. In this other environment, severe correctional and containment methods can be employed that could not be used were normal students involved." The woman stood to turn on a projector. "Here are some of these delinquents at Furinkan Senior High School. Interviews reveal that this individual has instigated a large number of fights, these occur regularly in the morning."
"Junior High School is the last required grade of public school," insisted the older man. "Wouldn't it make more sense simply to eject these troublemakers from public school altogether rather than engage in this sort of social experiment?"
A young woman in the business suit smirked. She wouldn't explain how surveillance photos of the inevitable battles would be sold, the proceeds going to help defray costs of the institution itself. Certain things were necessary, but not something to be bandied about. "Many have connections or access to lawyers. They would be able to get themselves reinstituted. No, a seperate learning environment will have to do."
"It is the progressive thing to do," suggested another of the young business suited. "It is made more problematic by their levels of ability."
"The one known as Tatewaki Kuno for example. Though supposedly a kendoist, he fails to follow the bushido code or rules of kendo. Instead he flails about causing property damage and slicing through trees using a vaccuum blade technique." A young man spoke. "An Air stylist."
"Mishima Heavy Industries has graciously allowed us to test some of their military grade hardware in this school," said the first young woman. "We've been planning this for some time."
"So I see," said the older man, settling into his chair with an air of resignation.
They were gathered, with only a few days warning of the change.
Violent maniacs, bad girls, crossdressers, and worse.
All would soon find themselves at Saint Bishamon's Maximum Security High School.
