A Cat's Yarn - Golden Destinies: Slowing Down to Explain. [Episode 10307]

by Red Priest of the 17th Order

Ranma felt his throat go dry. He had to take a few moments to think. After awhile, he finally spoke. "I'm not sure myself. Yesterday, I was human, and now... Well, I woke up the forest what felt like an hour ago. I got to talk with the Egyptian Cat Goddess Bastet, and I found out I was turned into a Sabretooth Weretiger."

Gar interrupted. "Wait, wait, hold on. Did you say that you're a Sabretooth Weretiger?" Gar asked in slight disbelief.

"Yeah." Ranma answered. "Or as Bastet called me, a 'Weresmilodon'." After a thought, he then added, "And of the long-tailed variety."

Gar blinked. He didn't think a Sabretooth tiger was a species used to make Lycanthrope centuries ago, but he could be wrong. "Okay... Well, what bring you here?"

Ranma shrugged his shoulders. "Bastet sent me here to help out the Northern Edge Guard. Hey, do you know where I can find them?"

Looking at Ranma, Gar asked, "And why do you need to help the Northern Edge Guard?"

"Not sure. Bastet told me they'll be facing off against some 'opposition' that will give them some real problems, and she sent me to give them a chance to win." Ranma then noticed Gar become uneasy. "Hey, are you okay?"

Gar blinked. He didn't know if Ranma was lying or not,but he couldn't leave it up to chance. "I think maybe you should talk to Onoli."

"Who's Onoli?" Ranma asked.

"A friend of mine who happens to be a werelion." Gar answered.

"Oh, that would be okay." Ranma said.
