In the middle of a normal day(or Night), The sky suddenly filled with E-frames never before seen, piloted by blue-faced angels of death. Military and police forces, caught completely by suprised, crumbled quickly. The next few hours of the invasion were sheer terror for millions of Terrans as the Neosapien soldiers vented their frustrations, both real and those suggested by Phaeton, upon the helpless civillian population.
Before the battles were over, the day had seen the seperation of thousands of families. Some in the confusion of invasion, others through the finality of a stray(or aimed) missile or laser blast.
After the occupation, not all Terrans submitted to registration and eventual roundup. Many had fled into the surrounding wilderness or countryside, or hid deep within the basements, sewers and subway tunnels within the cities. Many of these eventually formed the basis of the Resistance groups, but many more were groupings of scared Terrans, men, women, and children, who simply did what they could to survive.

26-year-old Stella Holly sighed as she rode her motorike though the woods. The past year since the Neosapien invasion had been rough, but she had quickly learned how to survive in the outskirts of this town.
Part of her survival was due to the current reason for her worry. She had come to this town from the western portion of North America, foolishly hoping to find some shelter at the large interplanetary communications array out here, but it was quickly overrun by Neosapien forces, just after it had sent a distress signal to the Exofleet. In her flight, she had just barely managed to escape possible death or incarceration as Neosapien infantry, Tanks, and E-Frames swarmed the town.
She was saved again by the intervention of three kids, just barely in their teens. They had been testing out a scratch-built hover-bike when the attack came, and used it to get away themselves.
Stella ran a hand through her red hair as she stopped. The searchlights of the concentration camp the Neos had decided to built at the Communications Center could still be seen sweeping the sky over the hills. She really wished the kids wouldn't have taken off scavenging like that, the Neos would be starting their nightly patrols soon.
She sighed again, hoping the kids would be alright. They should be heading over to the caverns they discovered last week. She decided to head over there herself. Hopefully, they wouldn't get lost again trying to explore the caves.
