The New Demon: The death of Tendo Nabiki (DARK) [Episode 103357]

by Drakuzz

"Help me!" The beaten woman screamed from her place on the floor, fear so deep the guard had trouble connecting the image with that of Tendo Nabiki. She screamed again, but this time in pain, when Ranma slammed a foot in the middle of her back. A sickening crunch was heard and the victim became completely limp.

By now sirens could be heard and the lights were back on. As booted feet approached the guard witness to the murder finally reacted to the situation. "Hold it right there!"

Ranma turned to regard the guard with a smirk. "No." After saying that simple word he fired an energy blast at the still form on the floor.

The backlash of the explosion sent the guard crashing against the opposite wall. Then she saw the man had disappeared as if by magic, while Nabiki's body, or what remained of it, burned in flames.

By the time the others arrived and they opened the cell nothing was left of Tendo Nabiki in that cell. Not even ashes.

---

"Did you have to kick me that hard?" Mara growled out as she rubbed her back.

Ranma shrugged. "Had to make it convincing."

The demoness was now outright glaring at her companion. "Convincing my ass. Next time follow the plan, you idiot!"

Ranma glared right back. "Who're you calling idiot, tomboy?!"

"What did you call me?!"

By now Ranma and Mara's faces were just inches apart, both seemingly ready to tear into each other. They would've too, if a third voice didn't interrupt them.

"Excuse me."

"WHAT?!" Mara and Ranma screamed at the same time, turning to regard the third occupant of the hotel room.

Once she had time to calm herself, and realize Ranma didn't want to kill her, Nabiki regained her cool exterior. This was, after all, far from the weirdest thing that had happened around the pigtailed martial artist. "What is going on?" While the question was flat and too open she felt it was the right one.

Mara snorted and walked to the door. "She's your pet, Ranma. You take care of her. When you're done look me up in the park." And then she was gone.

The open dismissal made Nabiki's blood boil, but until she had more knowledge of just what was going on she'd hold back on retaliating. Not that she had much leverage to work with right now, anyway.

Ranma grunted at Mara's words and sat down on a couch.

Silence filled the room until Nabiki could take it no longer. "What the fuck is going on, Ranma?"

The guy smirked. "Is that what you learned in that place, Nabiki?"

"Answer the damn question!"

Ranma nodded, serious again. "Why were you in there?"

Nabiki glared at Ranma. "For supposedly planning your murder, which I did not thank you very much. Now why did you have to wait two fucking years to return?"

The pigtailed demon stared at Nabiki seriously. "I didn't have much of a choice. As for you not planning my murder... I believe you."

The woman smirked. "And why is that?"

"If you had planned the whole thing you wouldn't be caught. Someone screwed us both over." Ranma finished dangerously.

Nabiki started to realize why Ranma came after her. While it was hard to imagine someone returning from the land of the dead the pigtailed martial artist would be the one able to do it. "You want me to find out who did it."

Ranma shook his head. "I know who killed me." He leaned forward, his eyes boring into Nabiki's. "What I want you to do is help me get back at them and at whoever planned this."

"What's in it for me?" The woman asked greedily. While it was true she wanted revenge for being used as a scapegoat, it was also true she wanted more out of the deal. If things turned out wrong somehow she could very well end up dead.

"A new life. Right now everyone will believe I murdered you in your cell."

"What?!" Nabiki narrowed her eyes.

A smirk was her answer. "You would be all but useless if the cops were looking for you, so I put up a little show with Mara. You're now officially dead."

Nabiki glared at Ranma again, certain he couldn't come up with such a scheme on his own. "I guess I have no choice." She admitted tightly and made a mental note to be careful around the blonde woman.

Ranma nodded and stood up. "Get some rest, Nabiki. It should be morning soon and you have to get used to sleeping during the day." He then walked out of the room, leaving the middle Tendo sister to ponder about what happened.

---

Outside Ranma finally stopped pretending and slumped against a wall, barely able to keep standing. "What the hell is wrong with me?" he muttered and started walking to meet with Mara.

He didn't take more than two steps before collapsing.
