Ranma the Slayer !?: Learning the basics [Episode 10387]

Days passed and Ranma would use any free time he could get to study the book's magic. The 'lighting' spell he had learned first had proven useful in many ways and encouraged Ranma to learn more.

There were three forms of magic according to the book, each with their own rituals and specialties.

White Magic for Healing and Protection.

Shamanic Magic for calling on the five elements : Earth, Fire, Water, Air and Spirit.

Black Magic for REALLY big attack spells, summoning power from beings with weird names.

Obviously, White Magic was what he needed to cure his curse. It would be a long time before he could cast a Remove Curse however, it was one of the highest-level spells in the book. On the other hand, Black Magic called on chaotic-looking powers, maybe they could do something for him.

Fortunately, Ranma took to magic as a fish to water. Convinced it was just martial arts training of a different sort (magical gestures were katas, incantations a form of meditative trance, wielding mana was almost the same as wielding ki), his infamous gift for learning quickly new techniques served him well. The fact that magic had screwed up his life already made him prudent and he avoided many beginner's mistakes.

The effort he put in learning had other effects, he was more thoughtful in general and his appetite had gone bigger. He knew that was a natural consequence of using magic, spells used many calories.

Of course, all those changes perturbed his entourage, making it more difficult to learn in peace, prompting him to go on a training trip alone. They had tried to follow him of course but a Dark Mist spell took care of that.

He set up camp at Mount Terror. No one there to see him practice massive destruction spells. Alone and undisturbed. Or so he thought...

"Why, hello there !" A cheery voice said.

Ranma turned, surprised, and saw...
