She had immediately teleported to the Hikawa Shrine to start her search. Upon placing foot upon the slick ground, she vomited. From the doorway she had landed in, in a long path, she had traced the evidence of a battle between a cardian with some sort of claw weapon and Mars from the gouges, blast-char, blood and red fabric all the way into the shrine of the Sacred Fire.
A fire that was extinguished, apparently, with the Flame Senshi's own blood and body. She had gathered the remains and continued her search.
Ami, she found in the supermarket freezer; Makoto was pierced upon an oak tree. She returned to the shrine with their bodies and stumbled into the growing night.
Minako was hung from the arcade's fire escape by her own chain. She gathered the blonde's body into her hands and turned to leave, when she stopped.
For there lay the body of the last soverign of the Moon Kingdom. Untouched but shrivled, it was obvious what had happened. In a last-ditch attempt to stop the maddness, the large-hearted girl had poured more than all she had into the Silver Crystal. It had failed and cost her her life.
Once the five girls were in one place, the jade-maned woman collapsed. She was in a week-long stupor, going through the motions until she stumbled across a scene that truly brough unconsiousness. A trio of emaciated corpses: A short-haired blonde; another with long, aqua-colored tresses and, huddled between them, a tiny girl with long, black hair. UnAwakened, the three of them had still found each other before death came for them all.
"Excuse me," a gentle baritone shook her from her nightmare review of the past. She blinked, focusing upon a pair of eyes with the same sparkle that she had seen in the princess of Venus'.
The man continued to speak. "I saw you standing here, staring at me, and I had to talk with you."
She gathered her nerves. "I am a part of the project here, Mister...?" she responded, trying to calm herself.
The man stood in a easy, slight slouch that belied his obvious talent. "Saotome," he answered her. "Ranma Saotome. New pilot of Minako." He let his neutral expression slip into a small smile and flipped his pigtail back behind his head with a sidewise tilt. "And you are?"
She drew in a long breath to settle her quickened pulse. "Doctor Setsuna Meiou, head of programming and electronics," she greeted him with a slight bow. She gave him a piercing look, then asked, "Saotome, you say?"
Ranma stiffened momentarily. "Y-yeah," he stuttered. "Why?"
The lone living female of the Moon Kingdom felt herself smile for the first time in the las few years. "I've heard tales of your fighting skills..." she began in a light voice.
