But the idea that they would choose this girl was both odd and understandable. Tessa was not only a young woman in a career that was for hard and intelligent workers, but she was also quite brilliant. Not yet an adult by elf standards, she still managed to be a rising star in the designing of ships, and could put any of the Engineers out of work. Her skill in that regard, and her ability to command were both excellent, and if she stayed with the military, there was no doubt that she would rise high very quickly.
On the other hand, like any one else, she did have some faults. She was soft spoken, and quiet, both by self esteem issues and nature. The flip side of that was a drive to prove herself that pushed her hard, and could cause some problems.
Either way, she still admired the Prince. When she'd been about to enter her field, some had questions about the wisdom of allowing her to do so. Both the military and her family had concerns, and she was stuck in the middle. Yet, all the Prince had to do was to hear about it, and he got interested in the problem. She was shocked to find out that he remembered her, and had interefered on her behalf. It was only him saying that it'd be stupid not to let her in, but it was enough, and she never forgot what he'd done for her.
And now, she was a bridal candidate, though, even if she lost, she'd still be working for him.
Sighing in amusement, the Rowan sat back and shrugged to herself. She had many possibilities, and lots of problems, but she was going to have to face them now. There was no more time for research, as the candidates were already arriving, and once they were all there, the contest would begin. At that point, she'd have no option but to make her decisions, and pick just who she thought should be with the Prince.
'No time like the present,' she thought, and got up to head to the contest area while:
