"How is he, Brandow?" Lying in the medical pod was Dr. Ayanokoji. He had been changed into a hospital garment and had white cloth wrapped around his forehead.
"Still unconscious. I've tried conventional means to wake him up but he doesn't seem to be responding to them, sir," stated the blonde man.
"Inform me at once of any changes in his condition."
"Yes, sir."
His superior nodded before leaving the chamber. He walked down the corridors before entering a new room. Among the walls were multiple Steel Angels. He pressed an activation sequence to awaken three of them. "Kaori. Kaga. Tsunami."
All three Steel Angels snapped to attention. "Hai!"
"I'm assigning you three to observe Kurumi, the Steel Angel who possesses the Angel Heart Mark II created by Dr. Ayanokoji. Set up scenarios to test her abilities. Then report back with your findings. Kaga, I'm appointing you field leader of the group."
The black haired Steel Angel nodded. "Yes, sir!"
"Go down to engineering and pick up whatever equipment you'll need. Dismissed."
As the three Steel Angels left, the man took out his communicator and punched in a number.
There was a gruff voice on the other end. "Steel Angel Laboratory."
"It's me. What's the status on Karinka?"
"Body construction is complete except that someone decided to change Karinka's hair into two pigtails."
The man raised an eyebrow. "Pigtails?"
"In any case, sir, she's ready to receive the combat data. Both Angel Hearts have been installed successfully."
"Very well. I'll have Kaga send you her findings on Kurumi as soon as possible." The man turned off his communicator. 'Karinka...you will be the Steel Angel who can counter the Angel Heart Mark II.'
