But as his stomach began rumbling, he decided that perhaps a little food might make the training go smoother.
Later: and a nap as well.
Later: Hungry again... you didn't expect him to train Ranma on an empty stomach did you?
And a good night's sleep?

And so it went on and on, until, one day:
"Into the pit Ranma!"
"Yeah, yeah, whatever, pops," Ranma leaped down into the pit without overmuch concern.
"mmm..." Genma mused, perhaps he should have thrown Ranma in as a child, and not put it off until he was a old enough and skilled enough to fight them off?
Never mind then, he would just find, hmm... bigger cats! Yeah, that was it... hey, they had some pretty BIG cats in those pictures of Africa he had seen in that magazine.
And so, as in some other alterverses, Ranma was thrown to the lions.
Fortunatly for him, in this reality, it was a holy day, as the heir to the pridelands hand been born. Simba, son of Mufasa!
And so, despite much overgrumbling from Scar, Sarabi and Mufasa treated Ranma like he was Simba's best friend... which he soon grew to be.
