It wasn't a pleasant end, of that she was certain. There was nothing going on, with the only visible things being the stars and the sun. That combined with the silence which filled her ears, it was a terribly lonely and long way to go. Which was not the way that she wanted to do it, but she knew that while she would prefer to have gone in battle or in her sleep, that wasn't going to happen.
And it was all that stupid doppleganger's fault. If it hadn't decided to go after her ship, then they could have simply captured that other vessel and whatever riches its shabby form might have. Instead, that... that... freak was probably after her sister even at this moment, and their original, and now proven to be cowardly, prey was probably light years away.
She had only one thing to say at that moment.
"AARRRRGGHH!"
Breathing a bit easier since his ship had stayed away from the Shadow construct. He wasn't sure how well the pirates would do with that sort of thing on their ship, but he wasn't holding out a lot of hope for their success. As it stood, he hoped that they had escape modules, and a self destruct device.
But then he saw something on his sensors that he almost ignored. It was too small for a ship, and he didn't have time for rocks, but something about it made him take a second look. Which he realised could prove to be a major situation as he saw that there was suit transponder signal from where the reading was coming from. That meant that someone was floating away out there, and by the lack of ships in the vicinity, whoever it was had a very big problem on their hands.
It was probably a pirate though, as he couldn't see a reason for anyone being outside their ship in a situation like this. As such, that person had been among the crew of the vessel that had been ready to attack his, and could have been killed even without the constructs interference.
However, the pigtailed young man reminded himself with a sigh, he wasn't the type to let people die needlessly no matter what. It was what had gotten him into this mess, but he couldn't help himself. Leaving someone to suffer such a fate just seemed to be rather... bad.
So, he reluctantly shifted course and prepared to rescue the person in distress.
Being so isolated was good for making one think, or so Akane was finding out. There was not much else to do, as she had nothing around her to keep her occupied, and talking or singing just used up air. That left thinking, and many would have used the situation to ponder their mistakes, and imagine the future that they had been denied.
She did so, though with her own unique bent. Her imagination supplied fantasies of her appearing out of nowhere back at the Way To Heaven with a big cannon that would blow away the monster who'd sent her out here. Then, as her comrades congratulated and thanked her, they would go foward and overtake that ship they'd been after so well that the coward of a captain would be beside himself with the need to apologise for his actions.
Unfortunately, those were only daydreams as she found herself seeing not the happy faces of her crew, but the endless expanse of space. She floated through it knowing that the only way it would stop for her would be when her air ran out. Even then it wouldn't stop the travel of her body, which would likely fall into the gravity of the sun and get burned up. Until then, she would only get to see the pinpricks of light out in the distance, and...
... the sight of that ship her crew had been after coming up to meet her?
She stared for a moment, but the odd vision didn't seem to want to vanish. Rather, it grew bigger, and she saw that one of the air locks was open, and being pointed in her direction. Which meant that she was about to be picked up by whomeever was running the vessel, and she had a very simple reaction to that.
"Oh now you decide to come along?! Where were you earlier?!"
Settling her face into a scowl, she could only wait as she rescued while:
