Separating Ranma from the girls wasn't enough in Genma's opinion. Because of them, Ranma was stronger and better than he should be. It took Genma all the tricks he knew to win in sparring matches. His respect towards his father (both as a teacher and as an authority figure) seemed to have taken a nosedive too.
To erase all the female influence Ranma had been subjected to, his father had decided to put him in an all-boys' school. He took care to select one known for his rowdy crowd. Surely, the immersion in a locale abounding with such manliness would do Ranma a world of good!
Why, the boy had already found an archrival the first day he went there! Ryoga Hibiki was tough, stubborn and could actually challenge Ranma. Though his abysmal sense of direction was a problem for consistent training... On the other hand, he would sometimes pop up unexpectedly, keeping his rebellious son on his toes.
It was time to move again, though. China and its exotic training grounds beckoned. Genma just had to go pick up Ranma behind Ryoga's house. While the Anything Goes school's creed said to accept all challenges, waiting three days for your adversary to come was a bit ridiculous...

The Cherry Warriors were pokegirls. Cute and cuddly versions, true, but pokegirls nevertheless.
Growing up at the same rate humans did, it was high time puberty (their first one in fact) hit. It entailed more complications for them than the average teenage girl.
While the drugs Sukebe had devised long ago to pacify his creations worked fine, the hormonal problems of puberty could allow old habits to resurface.
On top of that, some of them had evolved to their adult pokegirl type at the same time. Sakura, as many Slicers of Edo descent, was now a Ronin. Kanna had finally finished her martial arts training to her satisfaction, turning into an Amazonchan. Last but not least, Sumire had evolved into a Vixxen.
Kohran hadn't evolved but was feeling the seasonal 'itch' female cats were known for. As for Maria and Iris, they were late bloomers, still unconcerned by all this.
Chances were that the girls, when they found Ranma, would not content themselves with cuddling and holding hands, especially Sumire. If Genma got in the way, then it would be his funeral...
