Foreign Exchange: An American Shunkgirl in Nerima [Episode 106477]

by Red Priest of the 17th Order

Kassy Feeple sighed as she sat by the window seat on the airplane. God, this had been a totally boring 20+ hour flight. They had access to alien technology that would have gotten them there a hundred times faster. Hell, even her mom’s old rickety flying car could have gotten her to Japan in just under four hours!

Keeping her eyes on the sky as she looked out the window a bit more, the eldest Feeple daughter let out a sigh before lounging back into her rather cramped seat. God, what a pain in the ass. Did she really deserved to be punished like this? Who was her mother to say she had a ‘wild side’ that needed to be tamed?

...

Okay, maybe that last joke with the large mutant space-cat-bunny-spaceship was a bad idea to begin with, really her brother’s idea...

And there was that time they accidentally set off all the fire-sprinklers during the electronics convention at the Salusian Embassy, accidentally setting off all those Zardon Wardroids on the frizt...

And can’t forget that time she had accidentally unleashed that old Zardonian computer virus into the computer systems of the Salusian Embassy for laughs. But who was she to know it would have crashed the power-grid of the entire state for two weeks?

But hey, that didn’t mean she was wild, was she? She was just like any other kid. Happy healthy, and teeming with a sense of curiosity. “That doesn’t make me a bad person at all, does it?” Kassy questioned.

Sighing, the Salusian in human form shook her head, causing some locks of her long tanned blonde hair to go into her face. Bringing her head up to brush the hair out of her face, Kassy sighed. Oh yeah, was this ever going to suck. Especially when she thought about where she was going. “Nerima. A District of Tokyo Japan.”

Rolling her eyes, Kassy groaned to herself. That was the first place that her mother could find available for a foreign-exchange program. Though one would have to wonder why some place in Tokyo would have trouble trying to find foreign exchange students. Usually Japan was a hot-spot that a lot of people would have wanted to go to.

“Hmm, come to think of it, even Principle Yfory was incredibly wary of having me go to Furinkan High,” The Salusian thought seriously. When her mother stormed into the principal of Quagmire High’s office, demanding that Kassy be sent on the exchange program to Furinkan High, the man almost wet himself on the spot, and not because he was afraid of her mother. “I wonder why.”

However, Kassy’s contemplation was cut short as the ding of the intercom went off. “Passengers, this is your captain speaking. We’ll be arriving at Tokyo International in just under an hour.”

Kassy rolled her eyes. Another hour of this. Great. Just what she needed, especially with that fat bastard taking up the middle and aisle seat next to her, AND hogging the arm rests while he was at it. “Damn it, if I have to sit in this seat any longer, I’m going to really go ‘wild’!”

(------)

Standing up in her seat, Kassy groaned as he joints started to actually get some movement. Reaching up to the overhead baggage compartment, Kassy retrieved her carry-on luggage, which was able to hold all of her luggage thanks to the subspace compartments installed into it.

Walking towards the front of the plane, Kassy couldn’t wait to get the hell off. She practically just barged past the stewardess who was trying to ask if she had a nice flight or not. Yes. The Salusian wasn’t in a good mood. “Hopefully the family I’m being stuck with won’t be so bad,” The Salusian grumbled. But knowing her luck...

Walking down the platform which lead to the airport, Kassy stepped out of the airline gate and into the waiting area with all the seating. Turning her head and seeing interaction of people about as people were either reunited or just walked off, Kassy had to admit she was feeling just a tad lonely then and there.

As people started to leave, she was able to look around easier. Nope. No family. No welcoming committee at all. “Did they just forget about me?” Kassy though nervously. She then shook her head. “Maybe they’re just waiting at the wrong gate?”

Finally more people left, leaving only Kassy and a few other people.

Her eye twitching, the tanned blonde Salusian grumbled, “This sucks.”

Sitting up from his seat, Ranma got a good look at the obviously American girl standing there. Come to think of it, she DID look a little like the description that Principal Kuno had given him. Walking over to the girl, he asked, “Excuse me?”

Turning her head to the voice, Kassy looked at the raven-haired asian individual. She had to admit, the pigtail was somewhat unique. Swallowing to moisten her throat, Kassy tried out her Japanese. “Yes, what is it?”

“You wouldn’t, by any chance, be Kassy Feeple, would you?” Ranma asked seriously.

Letting out a breath she didn’t know she was holding, Kassy visibly relaxed. “Yes. I am Kassy Feeple, the foreign-exchange student form Quagmire High.” Looking at Ranma seriously, she asked, “Are you part of my host family I’ll be staying with?”

Ranma gave the girl a nod of his head. “Yeah. The name’s Ranma. Ranma Saotome. You’ll be staying at the Tendos with me, Pops, and the Tendo family.”

Nodding her head, Kassy felt more relief. Yet, still... “Where is everybody else?”

“Back at the Dojo,” Ranma said. “They left me here to pick you up. They even left me some money for cab fare so we wouldn’t have ta’ carry all your luggage.”

“That sounds okay,” Kassy said hesitantly. She noticed Ranma walking off. “Where’re you going?”

“Baggage claim,” Ranma said. “We need to get your luggage, right?”

“This IS my luggage,” Kassy said as she held up the carry-on bag.

Raising an eyebrow, Ranma asked, “Seriously?” He couldn’t believe it. He was used to carrying all his stuff in small spacing, but come on, even his backpack was three times the size of that small bag.

Nodding her head, Kassy said, “Seriously.”

“Okay,” Ranma said with a shrug. “Well, let’s get you to the Dojo so you can get you settled in for the weekend, and get your school uniform for Monday when classes start up for ya.” Though Ranma had to admit why even bother with a uniform. He himself didn’t wear one.

Nodding her head, Kassy sighed. “Okay, sure.” Damn, this guy was boring. She could already tell she was going to be bored out of her mind here...

...But if only she knew...
