Of course, he'd prefer to avoid having it done in any way, but it didn't seem that fate would allow that sort of thing to happen. As it was, Shampoo'd already trailed him there and proven to be big on literally making her own way in the world. It wasn't his fault that she'd been busted for constantly destroying public and private property, yet he still felt responsible for it somewhat. Perhaps if he brought her contract, if or when she came up for sale, which would keep her from getting being owned by someone not nice for the time she'd been collared.
Then he rubbed his eyes and felt glad for the quiet of the remaining walk. He hadn't understood how some people could buy several slaves, but then he hadn't actually allowed himself to buy one before. Now he was finding himself justifying getting another, though he admitted that it wasn't that bad in the Amazon's case. Though he still didn't understand why people became slaves. Most he knew had been criminals of some sort, but others... There had been stories of people who'd gone into contracts for large sums of money, or for reasons that were implied. Which he didn't understand since he barely understood the concept of 'implying' never mind finding out what it meant.
Of course, there was the occassional incident when it happened for other reasons, like with Mister Tendo. Apparently the Tendo Patriarch had been against Kuno's wishes until the boy waved a whole lot of cash in his face. By the time that Ranma knew Akane, she was staying at the idiot's mansion, and wasn't allowed to get out of it because of what her father did.
Being the person who'd become Kuno's latest obsession, Ranma knew that it was only the training that kept her from bashing his head in.
Yet, he was glad that his old man had stayed away from such things, so far as he knew. Genma did steal and lie, among other things, but his promise seemed to be enough to not sell his son. At least, not yet, and Ranma worked hard on keeping it that way.
Still, he knew that there were aspects to the whole thing that he had yet to find out, but he did had moved ahead, if he could call it that.
Behind him, Unit 14 made no notice of her owner's deep thoughts. Her only care was to follow his orders, and at the moment, that meant following him. But she was able to learn, so that she could become a better slave for him, and that included keeping facts like his wish to not share her fresh in her mind. That sort of thing she made sure to recognise, as it was important to her. The fact that she was walking naked in public for such a distance was totally unneccessary unless he told her otherwise. Only the admiring glances of the males, and few females they passed by was noted simply for the knowledge that she would be asthetically pleasing, which would be good for her owner.
Yet, she still recognised the areas they walked through, but only in the manner of knowing which way she was going. Other than that, she didn't notice. She had no problem walking, and as she would as far as he wanted her to.
That turned out not to be very far, as he stopped in front of one building in particular. "Here we are."
Both slaves stood there at attention, with their chests held proudly out as they looked at where they would be staying with their Owner. It didn't matter where they would live, so long as he decided it. But Unit 14 saw his gesture and looked at what seemed to be:
