"Martial artists of this calibre exist in a small world," Kodachi said. "And I know a few."

"You don't usually call me," Tofu said to the voice on the other end of the phone. "I suppose that's true. What did you need?"
There was a long pause as the person on the other end explained the situation.
"In the New York City area?" Dr. Tofu asked. "There are a few, but most of them are rather busy, and there'll be prices to pay. I was just making sure that you realized that. Well, people capable of pushing you as you are now."
Dr. Tofu thought about it for a moment, considering.
"Dr. Xavier is close to you," Tofu said. "I've met some of his students in the past, they do well. There's the Avengers, of course. Stick is rumored to be in the New York area as well. He is more than a myth, Kodachi. Others, let's see?"

"Yes," Kodachi said, taking down notes. "I see. Well, I didn't expect much, but..."
There was a brief click telling her that she had another call on the line.
"Hold on a moment, doctor," Kodachi said. "I have another call."
She took the phone away from her ear and transferred to the call coming through a little irritably.
"Hello?" she asked. Whatever the answer was, immediately set her on edge.
Kodachi sat up straight and listened closely to the voice on the other end of the phone, her eyes narrowed.
"I shall see you then," she said finally. Then she waited for the other to disconnect before switching to her conversation with Dr. Tofu. "As I said, I wasn't expecting much, just some names of where to go. One of these names should at least be able to point me to someone that can or will accept me. Don't tell your wife I called about this, I wouldn't want to worry her."
She hesitated as the other spoke, trying to think of how to frame the next bit of information she was going to impart.
"I'm taking care of myself," Kodachi answered the question put to her. "Incidentally. I heard from Her. She's in New York. I don't know what she could want. I left her anything she could want. With any luck, this will just be a whim of hers. Visit, say hi, go back home and back to chasing Ranma. No, I don't really believe that, but I can hope. I'll be careful."
Kodachi hung up the phone and stood up. She had to double check all her antidotes.
