Webs: Luring and Training [Episode 107591]

"She won't be a danger yet, though," Kodachi said finally. "She feels that she owes me and doesn't want to do anything against me while she is still in karmic debt. She is afraid of reprecussions due to the magical nature of her creation."

"Should she be concerned?" Peter asked.

"I have no idea," Kodachi said. "I know very little about magic. She, however, has been researching the occult fervantly."

"So in addition to the Goblin, we have a potential witch," Peter said. "When did someone decree that these be interesting times?"

"I'd like the answer to that as well," Kodachi sighed, rubbing her head.

"Do you have any other information to give me before we go our seperate ways for the day?" Peter asked.

"Two things," Kodachi said. "I have a suspicion on how we can lure the Goblin out of hiding."

"Lure him out?" Peter asked.

"You weren't going to wait for him to make the next move, were you?" Kodachi asked.

"I'm not exactly in a position to do anything else," Peter said in embarrassment. It was true, he didn't have the resources to set any sort of trap.

"Oh, true," Kodachi noted. "At any rate, The Goblin has something to do with Oscorp. When he murdered the board members, he said something along the lines of 'out, am I?' There was also a suspicious explosion at a testing sight of Oscorp's competitor, Quest Aerospace recently, and before that, a murder in Oscorp labs. Some theft was implied as well, thought the papers had no sure information on what was stolen."

"So what, a disgruntled weapons tester?" Peter asked.

"Or a hired gun," Kodachi agreed. "The initial murder and theft could have been used to seperate the Goblin from the responsibility of the company. If Oscorp gains a new problem, then it might attract the Goblin's attention."

"His first public attack was against Oscorp though," Peter noted. "If he's still supporting Oscorp, that could only mean that he's working for someone high in the ranks. Like Norman Osborne."

"True, he may have gone rogue already," Kodachi said. "But it is a hunch."

"Do you have enough money to threaten Oscorp?" Peter asked in a sidelong tone. He knew that's what she was talking about when she mentioned Oscorp gaining a problem.

"To myself?" Kodachi asked. "Not nearly, but I do have enough money to make a creditable show of threatening it. I am a stockholder and it is in a state of heavy vulnerability at the moment. Any apparent threat to the company's autonomy would have to be seriously considered. And the Goblin might try to end things more quickly."

"That puts you in the line of fire," Peter said.

"No more so than you," Kodachi said. "It just means that I shall have to be the first to dodge."

"And the second thing?" Peter asked.

"Yes," Kodachi said. "I've found some people that might be able to give me some better training. I have a decent list, and I plan to attend to this matter before the spring semester starts in January so that I can have, oh...hmm...three things to talk about it."

"Three things?" Peter asked, tapping his fingers.

"In a moment," Kodachi said. "If you're interested, I could mention this persona," she gestured to indicate Peter's costume, "to these people in addition to asking about myself."

"I'm not sure," Peter said. "I've got a lot of stuff on my hands as it is."

Kodachi shrugged and decided to mention it anyway.

"What else did you want to talk to me about?" Peter said, crossing his arms.

"Yes," Kodachi said. "If you have any advice about which professors to take for which of my general requirement classes, I'd be very grateful."
