Ranma was stuck in a more or less hypnotic trance as he followed Yuriko outside and down the path towards the resort village, his mind stuck in a neverending loop of "oshitoshitoshitwhyisn'tsomeonekillingmealready" Everywhere he looked, he could see skin - across the street, three teenaged girls were pointing at him and giggling as they apparently discussed some feature or other, sunbathers sat up to wave at him, and just ahead, another hostess - wearing the same garb, which was the choker the badge hung from - was giving Yuriko a hardeyed stare, not that Ranma really noticed. In fact, he was so distracted at the moment that he was almost bowled over by a skinny-looking kid in a towel that ran past him at high speed.
"Sorryyyyy!" came the doppler-distorted apology as the kid rounded a corner. No sooner was he out of sight, when a cry of "Yuuuusukeeeee!" rang out, and a girl bearing a remarkable resemblance to his girl form - except for having short green hair, green eyes, not a stitch of clothing, and *gulp* no pubic hair - barreled headlong into him, almost reflexively glomping on and smooching him. After a moment, her eyes opened.
"Ano... You're not Yusuke. Where'd he go?" she wondered, apparently not at all concerned at having kissed a perfect stranger. Yuriko shook her head ruefully.
"Midori-chan... Perhaps if you weren't quite so enthusiastic, he wouldn't run so hard."
Still glomped on to Ranma, Midori craned her head around to look at Yuriko.
"But, Yuriko-sempai, how else am I going to let him know I love him?" she asked, her eyes tearing up a little.
"Midori-chan, you're hopeless, aren't you? He went that way," Yuriko indicated. "And," she began, "please apologize to Saotome-san for scaring him like that." Seeing as Midori was already disengaged and running by the time Yuriko had said "that", it was doubtful she'd been heard at all.
"Saotome-san? Are you OK?" Yuriko asked.
"Wh, Wh, What was that?" Ranma managed.
"Oh, that was just Midori-chan. She gets a little overenthusiastic at times. Yusuke claims that running off is less exhausting than letting her catch him. Midori is very energetic."
"Oh."
"Come along, Saotome-san. It's not much further."
