Ranma had tried to do the stand-up thing. He had tried to break things off calmly with the Tendos... Boy did that fizzle and go hay-wire.
"I seem to just cause trouble no matter what I do..." Ranma muttered sadly. It took tonight to realize that nothing could go right. He was doing so well with finally getting to know and actually begin to 'like' Akane... But now, she was gone, whisked away by her grandfather; an evil man whom destroyed Ranma's people...
Ranma sighs... yet another piece of proof that nothing is constant for him. Eariler that day, he was human. Now he was a werecheetah...
"You okay up here?" Was the voice Ranma heard. He turned his head and saw Britanny on the roof with him.
Ranma sighed. Here was the woman whom he had wronged. He knew she was married, but because of that contract, and the fact they were basically one of the last few werecheetahs, everyone wanted them together so that they could procreate...
Ranma shivered. How could anyone just want him to have sex? True, he would try when he found the woman he loved, but now... He was being forced into a situation where he would have to marry a woman who was already married, so that they could have children together.
Britanny..." Ranma began, feeling a lump in his throat. "I'm sorry... I'm sorry for everything. I've just made things more complicated for you..."
Britanny was surprised to hear Ranma apologize. She hadn't thought of him doing anything wrong. Before she could ask why he felt this was his fault, Ranma continued..."
"I can't explain it Brit..." Ranma said, "Everything I seem to get to know someone, I make their life to pot. It's like everything I touch becomes twisted beyond repair..."
Britanny wasn't sure how to react to that. She could see that Ranam thought this to be his fault. "Why are you upset? You say it's your fault, but it's not. Were you the one to make that pledge? No. Your father and my father did. It's because of them this is happening."
Britanny sighed. She was surprised she said that. She put some blame to her dad. She would never have done that. But she realized something...
"Hey Ranma... Your dad was the one that started all this, encouraging my dad to make that contract. And you said he made other arrangement?" Britanny asked.
"Yes." Ranma answered.
"Don't you see?" Britanny said. "This is your dad's fault. He made an arrangement, but he had no intention on keeping it, or any of them. Because of him your life has gone haywire, it's not your fault, but his!"
Ranma blinked. This is the first time he knew of where someone placed the blame on anyone besides him. "You mean that?"
"YES!" Britanny said. She was then surprised when Ranma stood up and kissed her. "Woah, woah!" Britanny said, as she pushed Ranma back slightly. et's get to know each other first, okay?"
Ranma nods his head. "All right."
Ranma was happy. He might have found someone who could love him... But still... How could he marry her if she was already married...
Apparently, Ranma's never heard of Jade...
