Yuna looked a little pained as she bagan, "Sin was said to be the punishment for all of mankind's sins--thus, the name. It was a monstrous beast that, for over a thousand years, kept Spira from growing, changing. Maybe that was Yevon's fault, who really knows.
"During the time that Sin first appeared, great cities used machines to get by in day-to-day life. Although, machines were not just used for the well-being of people. They were used for war. They were once, and still somewhat known for being the forbidden machina. Looking for leadership, Yevon was formed. Yevon, paranoid and frightened themselves, wrote out the teachings. In it, they banned machina--machines--for even day-to-day use. They believed that machines were man's greatest sin, and that's what caused Sin to be born in the beginning.
"That was not the case though. It was found that an unsent summoner by the name of Yu Yevon was the cause. He became a mindless slave to his own talents--constantly summoning. Although it's still unknown how Yu Yevon managed to become such a monster, we do know that he was the heart of Sin. The heart that was destroyed three years ago."
Sora stood there, having stood at some point during Yuna's history lesson. Really, she did not know how to react to all of this. "Now I know what you mean about that destruction and dispair thing."
Jumping forward, Rikku grinned as she said proudly, "Yeah, Yunie put that Yu Yevon in his place."
The younger girl turned to Yuna for confirmation. She only gave a small nod. Sora remained silent as well, and just returned the nod. Something about her expression gave Sora the clear idea that this was a touchy subject for Yuna.
A tattooed man, with a blonde mohawk, and strangely shaded eyes approached her. He was wearing overalls and boots, but didn't wear a shirt. He looked really creepy. "Listen," Brother said with a thick accent, "I am Brother, leader of the Gullwings. This is beautiful Yuna," he pointed at the girl that had helped her, "This is powerful Paine," he pointed to the gray haired girl that he been so negative, "And that's just Rikku," he pointed to the blonde haired girl.
"Hey!" Rikku whined at Brother.
"So," Brother began again, ignoring the groaning coming from Rikku's direction, "you want to be on the team, eh?"
"Well, I..." before Sora could even fully reply, Brother was talking again.
"That's all well and good, but first you must prove yourself! All right!?" Brother excalimed and striked an odd pose.
