They sent parties to collect the dead as soon as they could find a mage willing to teleport them.
"Well?" Sander asked hopefully.
"She was out there, but," Thabian said, slowly shaking his head.
"Damn it, she was always so reckless!" Sander said, sighing. "Why'd she have to go and fight father on her own, without help or even witnesses."
"I didn't say we'd found a body," Thabian said soothingly. "She might have escaped."
"There are many bodies we haven't found," Sander said. "Some of the bodies are charred so badly we couldn't even identify their scent. The cheetahs can't find the body of their leaders' daughter. We can't find Ishtar's daughter. Do you think infants could have escaped the battle? They're dead, and my own father is at the source of it all."
