Life was grand. He had a cute girl who liked him. She was a Furry! A SKUNK GIRL!!! And... she liked him! Why, she'd even given him this nice Grav-Device to eat.. no no Ranma, no Tofu-ism now... that he was using to train with. At his current rate of progress (he could almost walk normally at 15 Gs now!), he would be stronger than Ryouga in... let's see, Ryouga was unable to move at 20Gs... but maybe that included his umbrella, had it also fallen on him at 20x Gravity? That'd explain it, no way Ryouga'd be unable to stand from supporting any pettily light amount like 20x his body weight...
Oh, look! There was Kuno! Ready for his usual daily routine of trying to get a date with the Pig Tailed Girl and Aka... oh. And oh. He was looking at Kassy with THAT look in his eye now.
This would not do.
"SAOTOME!" Kuno challenged, "You might have used your sorcery to inflict a plague on the entire Kendo team and most of the sports clubs, but *I* am too pure for your enchantments to touch!" (more like everyone went, "oh no, not another Kuno suicide mission... and it's not even for Akane this time?" and when someone claimed to have a stomachache, everyone had chimed in. "A foul curse from that Evil Sorceror Saotome!" "Yes, yes, that evil fiend," they had groaned out semi-theatrically)
"Strike! Strike! Strikestrikestrikestrikestrikedahdahdahdahdah!" Kuno wasted no time on his usual warm-up attacks.
"Katchu-Tenshin-Amaguriken!" Ranma also pumped, went right into it with both guns blazing.
And Nabiki, smiling broadly from her clean-up over the "Kuno dumping Akane AND the Pig-Tailed-Girl" bets, watched as the usual fight began to play out, with only half her attention on the match.Things were going just about exactly as she predicted and had adjusted the match pay-outs for.
... right up to where Ranma fell over with over a dozen impact marks from the kendo stick hitting him.
"owie... BOY I'm glad I did that toughening up training now," Ranma moaned slightly, "Or I'd be bleeding all over the place. As it is, these scatches'll heal in a day or so, but this extra gravity is slowing me down a LOT!"
"Surrender Saotome! Your dark powers are as nothing to me!"
mmm, what to do, what to do... well, he could just turn off the gravity device, but... as he said, the best way to train with it was to have it on ALL the time, including for his daily fight sessions. And... and... and KASSY HAD MADE IT!!! And she'd even let him have it to do his training with... no, he'd use it every moment he had and treasure each...
Waitwaitwait, the bit of his brain he used to plan his fights called out, you still gotta beat Kuno. And anyhow, you're fighting to protect her now, right? So, losing's not an option...
*DING!*
"I got it! Hey, Kuno, take your best... errr, yes, I have decided to take my punishment like a man! Let me have it right on the chin!"
"With pleasure Saotome!" Kuno launched into a vicious upwards slash.
Ranma ducked down to draw power for a massive jump, and timed it so his feet left the ground just as Kuno's kendo stick contacted to assist launching him even further into the air... which was, though not as high as normal, still a respectable distance.
"Shooting Star Kick revised..."
Ranma reached the apex of his height and began to accelerate downwards at a close to 15x g (almost 150 meters per second per second...) Kuno readied his Bokken for a Takahashi home run swing to launch the demon sorceror, now a sitting duck for the knock out blow, out of the school yard...
"FALLING METEORITE KICK!!!" Ranma plughed right thru Kuno's slash and, well... let's just leave it as Kuno was implanted quite deep in the concrete, and leave the messy details in between to the imagination, yes?
