Half-Family: Drop the Bomb [Episode 111625]

by Thrythlind

"What's the deal here, Nabiki?" Ranma asked irritably, he really didn't like being cooped up with all of these people. Any moment, they'd all be lunging at him with intent to kill.

"Relax Ranma," Nabiki said, not too relaxed herself, for all her attempts to appear so. "I'm about to make your engagement problems easier."

"And just how are you going to do that, sugar?" Ukyou demanded as Ranma was noticing that Nabiki hadn't called him "Saotome."

"Well," Nabiki said, glancing around at the various fiancees.

"How much this cost us?" Shampoo demanded, irritably tapping her fingers on her elbow while tapping her foot.

"Not a thing," Nabiki said.

The result was stunning silence.

"Excuse me," Kodachi commented. "But I believe I misheard. You aren't charging us for this little soiree?"

"I'm not charging you for the information, no," Nabiki said.

"What information is that, Nabiki?" Akane asked. The moment Nabiki had indicated she was doing this for free, she had turned nervous.

At this point, Nabiki looked like she would have been happier being anywhere else.

"Err," she said in a quiet voice and continued on to mutter in a quick voice that grew no louder than a whisper, half-choked by Nabiki's hesitance perhaps. "noneofyoucanmarryranma."

"What was that?" Ukyou asked, stepping forward dangerously. "I didn't quite catch that."

"I...uh...said," Nabiki coughed. "None...uh heh...of you can marry...um...Ranma."
