Then came the sudden realisation that instead of being surrounded by something heavy and warm, he was in a space that was light and free. It was still dark, but not of the complete type that he'd woken up to. Instead there were pinpricks of light up there, as the starry shroud of night hung over head.
The whole thing was rather disorienting, and he had no idea of what had happened. One moment he was eating at an inn, and the next he was covered in dirt. Even the weather seemed different, and he couldn't tell if it was just him, or if something had happened.
Spotting a small pool of water, he knelt next to it and saw the grubby face that had become so familiar to him, so he knew that he wasn't hurt or anything. Scooping up some water, he splashed his face, trying both to clean himself off, and wake himself up. The chill of the clear liquid did help, but it didn't really change the situation.
It still meant that he was alone, confused, and hungry.
Sailor Pluto looked at her handiwork and resisted an urge to slap a hand over her face. Rather than just killing him or turning him into a bloodthirsty monster, he was now back, and basically immortal. He would not age, and be basically impossible to kill.
And it was all her fault.
