“That’s curry bread’s mine!”
*CRASH*
“I called dibs on that meat bread!”
*BAM*
“GIMMIE THOSE RICE BALLS!”
*MORE SOUNDS OF EXTREME VIOLENCE*
Looking on the carnage in front of her, Kassy winced. “Wow, I didn’t know people could bend like that.” For a moment the half-Salusian stood there wondering if she could make it through the rest of the day without lunch. “Hey Ranma, I don’t suppose you could also pick up… what’s that?” she asked while staring at the bento box in Ranma’s hands.
“My lunch,” he told her simply before popping a shrimp into his mouth.
“But, you… WHERE DID YOU GET THAT?”
Jumping a bit from the shout Ranma quickly regained his balance and made sure none of his precious food spilled out before looking back to Kassy with a confused expression. “I brought it from the Tendo’s, Kasumi made it, same as yours. You know, those set of bento boxes she left by the door.” Seeing Kassy’s eye start to twitch, Ranma just blinked a few times and wondered what was going on. “What?”
Taking in a deep breath, Kassy prepared to state the fact that she had no idea that’s what Kasumi was doing this morning so of course she didn’t pick up her lunch and was stuck without food and needed to go to this madhouse for something to eat. But, before she could even form the first syllable, Kassy just let out a long breath of defeat and slumped down. “Never mind, let’s just go.”
“But, you haven’t even gotten your drink yet,” Ranma replied while pointing to some of the soda machines over in the corner. Ranma preferred water himself, he just figured Kassy wanted something with actual taste to it. With no reply from the sulking American, Ranma just followed her out of the cafeteria. What’s got her all upset?
Great, now what am I supposed to do? The girl wondered. Kassy supposed she could try going off campus, but with that vampire of a disciplinarian she didn’t want to know what would happen if she got caught. The thought of just putting on the cute act and asking Ranma for some of his food did come to mind, but something about guilting the guy out of his food just really didn’t sit well with Kassy. Then of course Kassy’s stomach had to protest the decision her newly acquired conscience had come to with a loud rumble, and the royal quickly put her hand on her stomach in embarrassment.
“Forgot your lunch huh?” Ranma asked.
“Wha-How did… I mean, what that actually is a good question,” Kassy mumbled to herself before pointing back to Ranma. “How’d you know?” Ranma just gave her a look that shouted ‘do you really think I’m THAT stupid’ and Kassy looked down at the ground. At least it was on the ground till a bento with about a forth of the stuff missing was shoved under her face, the delicious smells taunting her nose. There was actually a lot of food in there for just one person.
“Go take it already,” Ranma ordered, his stomach starting to turn the tide on his soft spot for cute girls.
“Well thanks but… aren’t you going to be hungry?” Kassy asked after swiping the food and taking a bite. The food was pretty good, considering what the cook had to work with anyway.
“Hey, a martial artist can do days without food remember?” Ranma announced with a heroic pose while a rising sun banner dropped in the background. That is at least until his stomach rumbled and the whole effect was ruined.
“Yeah… sure,” Kassy replied sarcastically. Deciding not to waste any more time, she just grabbed Ranma’s hand and lead him towards the door outside. “Come on Mr. Sacrifice, we’ll just split it. That tree over there looks like a good place to sit down.”
“No really, if you really want it you can take it… I can get something somewhere else,” Ranma said.
“No way I’m letting you go back into that riot of a lunchroom! Now sit down, we’re sharing,” Kassy ordered before plopping down near the tree and pulling Ranma down with her. Giggling a bit at Ranma’s frown, the skunk-eared girl held up some food in front of his face and smiled a bit when Ranma finally took a bite.
