Setsuna's New Life-LOR: Rescue Needed. [Episode 112173]

by Kestral

Their fates had been linked, backtracked, and tangled. So it was easy to track Ranma Saotome from where the new Ringwraiths were gathered in Hawaii.

Sailor Pluto realized she didn't have much time. When the paradox protection failed, she would become a Ringwraith bound by the ring on one finger. She might be able to hold out against her corruption and the Master's control - for a few days. Eventually she would tell Sauron of Ranma and the link, and how they could eventually end up being freed by Ranma.

When that occurred, Ranma Saotome would be hunted down and killed.

When that occurred, the world was doomed.

The irony was not lost on her. The connection, however faint, was serving to give the captured Senshi some resistance. In order to save the Senshi, she now had to save Ranma Saotome. Only Sailor Moon herself had a stronger potential connection, and that was to Mamoru Chiba.

Unfortunately, Tuxedo Kamen had been quickly taken out of the battle and his "lifeless" body thrown into a chasm with the various Senshi watching. The light of hope had been extinguished, as far as they knew.

Yet Mamoru Chiba was still alive, though his own mana connection had thrown his body into a preservative stasis field in order to survive. Buried alive but kept at death's door, he would not be of any use at present.

Sailor Pluto groaned at what she found at the Tendo Dojo.

Ranma tossed and turned in his sleep, as he had every night for several months now. The nightmares had started shortly before Jusenkyo, and had gotten progressively worse.

The women he knew by now. Sometimes the setting was different, but the players remained the same for all that the world around them changed.

Tonight looked like Warring States period, or maybe a little before. The Princess, elegant in her formal kimono, riding a white horse with white tack and harness.

Flanking her on the sides were her samurai, a tall girl in green armor and a blonde in golden armor.

Behind her were two more. A Shinto priestess and some sort of scholar.

Off to the sides, two others rode as scouts or outriders - looking for any threat against their princess. Finally there were the two following behind the whole procession. A child/woman and a woman with cold red eyes.

The shadows stirred. The outriders were intercepted and brought down. The stragglers behind were next. An ambush followed, the shadowy forms a legion which attacked from without as others dropped down within the protective ring they formed around the princess.

A knight on a midnight black steed charged forward. He was caught by one of the larger shadow-creatures, his body sundered and ripped apart, then flung over a ledge.

The scene faded, the dungeon where each was chained so thoroughly no part of their body was free.

Now each of them were tortured. Even...

Ranma wept in his sleep. Men don't cry as his father would point out.

Pluto nodded. The tangled fate-link had anchored the Senshi and given them some added measure of resistance to the enslavement Sauron sought. The effect on Ranma manifested in nightmarish visions and a growing distraction.

This was irritating the heck out of everyone in the Tendo household, and if he had described the common players in the dream he would have likely gotten even more irritated reactions. Since he'd been getting the images prior to Jusenkyo, everyone was quite familiar with the problem now that he was there for a month.

If she sent her image to the Tendo breakfast table, explaining the situation to Ranma, HE would believe. The others were more "iffy" - but there was a chance an adventuring fellowship would be born of it.

Yet there was another problem. Desire was not competency. Even if the Nerima martial artists joined together, could they stand against the Senshi? Could they withstand the daimon and uruk-hai and other forces that Sauron could field?

Sailor Pluto thought carefully and:
