Which was why the seraphims placed at each of the four corners of the temple rose up as the eyrines approached.
The eyrines hesitated a moment and then pressed forward, invisble claws reaching screeched against unseen shields and airy swords clashed with colorless scales in a cacophony of battle sounds that erupted over the temple with the sound of a thunder clap.
"Huh?" Megumi said, she glanced outside to the darkening cloud that hung almost immediately over the building. "The weatherman said it was going to be sunny and calm all day."
"Well," Athena said, clapping her hands past each other as if dusting them off. Then she stood up to look outside. "That's starting then. Peorth, Belldandy, I assume you can handle checking the kitchen. My business is apparently at hand."
"It's just a storm," Megumi said, though her statement was more of a question.
"That start of one," Athena corrected as she called to mind the necessary spell to enable her to see the spirits that had been sent.
