*BEEEP!!!*
“EEK!!” Hotaru shouted as she found herself staring at a bright red Trans Am barreling down on her. However, at the last second the driver swung the car’s back end around and drifted around her, then continued on his leisurely 180 MPH drive.
Calming herself from her near-death experience, Hotaru couldn’t help but notice that the driver was probably as skilled as Haruka-papa.
And then she remembered what Haruka had said and continued on her way.
After a while, she finally began to tire out. That wolf Splicing had done wonders for her endurance, it seemed. Looking around, she realized she was near Makoto’s apartment. Walking up to the door, she knocked as loudly as she could.

Inside her apartment. Makoto Kino was engaging in one of her favorite activities: Baking. She had just put the first batch of cookies in the oven when she heard the knocking on the door. Dropping her current activities, she rushed over to answer.
“MAKOTO!!! Can I stay here for a while, please?!” Hotaru looked up at Makoto giving her a sad puppy dog eye look, which wasn’t too difficult to pull off now that she was part canine.
Makoto looked down at the little girl in confusion. Here at her door was a girl about 13 who’d been spliced, and who somehow knew her. However, she didn’t KNOW any furry girls that were about 13. The only furry girls she knew were some of the people her own age at school.
Then she looked in the girl’s eyes and recognized her. “Hotaru?!”
“Yeah! Can I come in?”
“Of course.” Makoto brought her in and sat her down in the living room. “So what’s up? Why are you here?”
Hotaru explained every detail, how she’d saved up to get spliced, how Haruka and Michiru weren’t happy with it and then her running off. She left out the part about almost getting killed, though. No need to give anyone a heart attack. “I was wondering if I could stay here for a while.”
“Of course! I’ll make sure we all have a talk with Haruka and Michiru, too. That was overboard, even for them…”
“Thanks, Makoto!” Hotaru then paused and sniffed the air “Is something burning?”
“OH, NO!!! THE COOKIES!!!”
"Yes Artemis?"
"Why is it Something always has to go on?"
"Because if it's not, what Else would out Sesnhi be doing?"
