Instantly they felt the differences.
Akane could FEEL the Earth under her, its power filled her and she gasped at the sensation. She could feel the sleeping power just itching to act at her decree. The everpresent fear of shifting earth that underlay the thoughts of many who dwelled in such cities was suddenly tossed away. What did she have to fear...she WAS the Jishin (earthquake) now.
Nabiki smiled faintly as the flow of the wind about her came in patterns that she could almost see, so aware of them was she. There was power on that breeze, it was subtle and sleeping now, but if she needed to, she could wake it up. And what's more...the patterns of moving air if she concentrated, gave her an idea of what was around her. She was always a force to contend with, despite her background appearance, just the Soyokaze (breeze).
"Oh my," Kasumi said, blinking.
She could suddenly feel the warmth about her all the more sharply. A humble, constant presence drifting down from the sun above. Lying dormant and waiting in the stove's gas-lines. Waiting to be sparked in the dry, dead wood that she'd later have to collect about the yard. A sort of Kagayaki (glow) that hung over fire, warmth or anything capable of igniting as such. And a similar glow in the warm bodies of her family.
