Half Dark: Dark Instinct (DARK) [Episode 117874]

by Kender

Thoroughly freaked out by what had happened, Ranma went along as a man driven. He knew that he needed answers, and he needed them as soon as possible. The simple fact that he'd turned into a winged girl who'd bitten another girl on the neck was enough to tell him that he wasn't exactly the same any more. Which meant that he had to work hard and fast to find out just what the hell he was, and how he could get back to normal.

Unfortunately, he knew little about where to find his answers. As he was in China, he had little knowledge about the language, never mind the geography. But he did know that if he tried hard enough, then he could eventually find a temple, a sage, or something that could help him deal with his new situation. Of course, a translator would help, but he didn't know how he could manage to get someone to want to help someone who could suck their blood dry.

Which, unluckily, was starting to happen. After biting his female attacker, he knew what his 'thirst' was, and how to slake it. But he couldn't bring himself to do what that would neccessitate, and so he pushed onwards in the hopes that he could find a cure before something happened. The problem was that it simply grew, and wouldn't go away. Ignoring it didn't work after a while, as it started gnawing at his insides, driving him to be irritable and twitchy all the time. He knew how to satisfy the need, but he couldn't do it, and had to stop himself from attacking those he might meet.

So he took to the woods, hoping for some chance that he might be able to learn to control his thirst before he did something he'd no doubt regret. If he could manage that, then he wouldn't have to worry so much, but even he knew how hard that would be. It just isolated him away from any source of getting what he needed, and that made it even worse.

That made it a very bad time for Shampoo to arrive on the scene. She knew that vampires were evil creatures who didn't hesitate in killing mortals from stories and legends, but this one seemed unable to even bring himself to do a basic attack. With her own eyes she'd seen the disgust that he had for what he'd done, and she knew that it meant something major. A part of her wondered if he was newly transformed or something, as it seemed that he was repulsed by what he was.

Well, she couldn't do much, but she could help him from this life. It wasn't a perfect solution, but if he was fighting his nature, then it would free him from that battle. His dark needs wouldn't need filling, and she'd have saved him from a life of torment.

Waiting for a moment when he seemed at ease and unprepared, she leapt out at him with her sword, fully intending to impale him on the blade and send him on his way to his eternal rest.

Instead of hitting his heart though, she got him in the shoulder, as the sounds she made alerted him, and he moved quickly to dodge. The strike did hurt though, as he let out a growl of pain, and grabbed at the imjury. It was obvious that he wasn't invincible, and that meant that he could be killed.

The problem was that he was fast, and was able to dodge all her strikes, save the last one. When she did manage to hit him, it was a glancing strike which he responded with by backhanding her across the jaw hard enough to send her flying to the ground. She lost hold of her sword as she landed, and it hit the ground just out of hands' reach.

Which wasn't good for her, as the pain of his injuries, combined with the presence of what he so needed triggered his transformation. Back in her female and winged form, she merely saw a source of sustenence, and acted merely on instinct. Leaping fowards, she landed on the Amazon and grabbed the wrist of the hand that had been about to grab the sword. A hard squeeze stopped the action, and before her opponent could know what was happening, the pigtailed girl had bitten into her neck and was drinking deep.

However, something deep within Ranma told her that killing wouldn't be good. It was a combination of both the wish to not kill anyone and some dark knowledge that she could do something... other than simply slaying the girl. So with her mind penetrating the girl's much as her teeth were doing at her throat, Ranma moved on instinct, and began binding the girl to her. It wasn't something consciously done, but it was thorough. Her will crashed over the warrior's, driving it, and reshaping it until the girl was completely in thrall to her new Master.

Shampoo could feel it happen, could sense her mind being taken over, and tried to fight it. But it was like trying to fight a torrential flood, as getting past one assault only put her into the path of half a dozen others. She didn't want to let herself give up, but with her strength cut out from under her in two directions, she didn't have any choice. The domination just came over her, and she found new mandates surplanting the old.

Not that she could analyze what had been done to her, as she was feeling weak in more than one way, and even the fact that the vampire had reverted back to his male form and was looking in horror at what he had done was barely noticed. All she wanted to do was sleep, and recover. However, she did have enough energy to realise that her life was no longer simply hers, as everything had changed.

Closing her eyes, she let herself relax for the moment while:
