To say Ranma was confused and scared at the monment could be considered a understatement of immense porportions. It wasn't just the fact he was standing out in the middle of nowhere with just a thin layer of ash for decency, but how he manage to get here with no memory. In fact, what little he could remember seemed more like a shattered picture than anything coherient. He could remember something about learning martial arts and a training trip, but for the young life of him couldn't even visualize his sensei, much less his name. It was as if something was deliberately keeping him from rembering. But right now Ranma had more pressing concerns.
"Hello?" he said, his voice slurred a good bit from a strange, unexplanable sense of exhaustion. "Is there anyone there?" He continued this for who knows how long before the cotton in his head dragged him back to the cold ground, enticing him with the promise of slumber. But as his eyes began to close, he saw a shape approching, blurred by the mental fog. "No, stay away." Ranma said, raising a shaking arm, fearing that what brought him out here was back to finish the job.
But instead of the imagine teeth and claws, all Ranma felt was a human hand closing arond his shoulder and a small shake to keep him awake.
"Are you alright?" the stranger asked, the somewhat hard compassion on person's voice making Ranma feel some degree of trust as the boy shook his head.
"I don't know what's going on." Ranma sobbed, his despair cutting through the fog. "I just woke up out here like this and all alone." he said as tears came to his eyes as the stranger took off their coat and draped it over the boy.
"Calm down, its all right." the stranger said, tryign to reassure the boy. However, the same sense of foulness that necessitated the reason to come here in the first place was now banging alarm bells in the stranger's subconcensious. "Where do you live? I can get you back home with no problem." he offered, the alarm bells growing louder as the boy searched his memories with obvious pain.
"I don't know..why can't I remember?!" Ranma frantcaly shouted as the stranger's face became grim as the boy's reaction confirmed that he had apparently survived a brush with Dark Powers, though whatever fool tried to use him as a sacerfice was struck down instead. While this warrented further investigation, right now the main priority to the stranger was getting the boy to where he can be watched for further influences.
"It's alright, do you remember your name?"
"Ranma, Ranma Saotome. What's your's?"
"My name is...
