Despite those glowing eyes, if one were to look at him they'd be able to see quite easily that his expression was one of confusion.
Which was understandable in that he didn't remember much about why he was there or what was going on. He could remember his name, he had memories of training in the martial arts, and he knew he had eaten something and changed.
Jusenkyo had lost its hold on him for a simple reason. Humans and animals at least as advanced as a frog could be cursed at Jusenkyo. Insects, fortunately for the area, could not receive a Jusenkyo curse. Neither could plants, pollen, and a number of other things.
Ranma wasn't a plant nor an insect, but he was outside the parameters of what the Cursed Springs could affect. He was neither human nor animal once you got past the surface appearance and into the cellular level.
He was Ranma and he understood that his head was muddled up. He knew he was Japanese and had memories of a few things that he didn't quite understand. He was a martial artist on a training journey, and there were a few images of some sumo wrestler he'd apparently been travelling with - and there was a panda too.
Well, he wanted answers, and he wasn't finding them here.
So thinking, Ranma looked at the path before him. Behind him he'd left some site he'd been buried at, and which had no answers for him. The path split into four branches which wound their way through the Bayankala mountains. After a moment's hesitation, Ranma decided to go:
