Hogwarts, Oh My!: With only a hint of confusion... [Episode 121268]

by Arthur Hansen

A cat waited impatiently. It really did not want to be here. This place was, in her own opinion, the worst place of a muggle nature.

She watched as a quirky, robed figure extinguish all of the lights on the street with a Light Putter Outer. In just a few moments, she heard a weird sound coming out of the air, as a huge man rode a motorcycle to the ground. He was carrying a small bundle.

The cat hopped down and shifted into an old woman.

"Yes, well, here we go," Dumbledore said, almost to himself. "He should be quite safe here."

"These people are the worst of muggles. You should see how they acted all day. He should be with a good wizarding family," the woman who was the cat said. She seemed quite upset. "I can't see them protecting young Harry Potter very well at all. You wouldn't even need magic to do harm here!"

The gigantic, bushy-bearded man suddenly looked nervous. "She could be right true about that. I hear that You Know Who's followers are looking for anything related to Harry and Him."

Dumbledore just gave Hagrid a very deep look. "And how did you come by that information, Hagrid?"

"Ah, I mighta talked to a few people at a pub after Sirius leant me his bike." The giant was suddenly abashed. His cheeks had turned rosy from his embarrassment.

The oldest wizard pursed his lips thoughtfully. "Though I should ask you to refrain from that normally, this indeed changes the view of this very important matter. It appears we must undertake drastic measures to protect young Harry."

"So you will send him to a Wizarding family?" McGonagal asked hopefully.

"No, he must stay here, with his family," he replied very firmly. "Let me see what I have here in my pockets?"

"Oh, dear." The last time that happened, they had to evacuate the headmaster office and call for an exterminator. Whatever had he been carrying a Gringewicket in a cage for, any ways?

"Hmm. Ah, yes. Snape gave this to me. He said it was quite useful as a tool to get into place where you are known." Dumbledore held up a small vial. "How to extend its duration meaningfully?"

"Perhaps you could make it so that it works with the wards," Hagrid supplied helpfully.

"Hagrid, that is terribly unsafe! Who knows what will happen?"

"Brilliant! Absolutely brilliant! That is just the thing! I will need your assistance, Minerva." Dumbledore then bent his head to converse with an upset McGonagal about his plan. Minutes later, they had devised their spell.

"I must protest this! This is quite dangerous!" she said one final time.

"We live in dangerous times. This is the only thing that we can do at this time. I will speak to the Minister of Magic about employing very powerful on top of this."

After a few minutes, they had cast the spell on the potion vial. With a little bit of work, little Harry was convinced to swallow the potion.

"What does the potion do, exactly?" the gigantic man asked worriedly.

"Nothing that you should have to deal with. It will wear off in a few years." The eccentric wizard smiled knowingly. He took out an envelope and then used his wand to erase portions of it. He then used the wand to refill in the areas with new text.
