The CMPD interpreted his words literally, and gave him a ‘less useless son’. Unfortunately, Genma wasn’t very specific.
***In another dimension***
The blonde woman’s scowl deepened as she read the letter again and again.
Its message was simple: ‘I have fulfilled my obligation to the Leaf. The girl is of no further use. Dispose of her as you will.’
It was signed, ‘Uchiha Itachi, master of Clan Uchiha’.
Tsunade, fifth Hokage of Konoha and one of the Legendary Three, stared calmly at the black-haired infant wrapped in blankets, sitting only a foot away from the mutilated corpse of his mother.
A faint aura of chakra surrounded her as a lesser-ranked ninja rushed to her side. She paid him no notice as she growled, “I want Hatake Kakashi here, now.”
***Days earlier***
It had been carefully planned. Once he had completed the planning, he’d started the execution of the plan. As always, it worked to the last detail.
The girl had been pathetically easy to capture. No one in the Leaf short of Tsunade herself could match him, and this girl had almost none of the Fire Shadow’s potential or skill. Even if she had been at her best he’d have taken her easily, and she wasn’t. Indeed, from his surveillance, she’d been overwhelmed by grief for the several weeks since he disposed of his younger brother, who had ultimately proven useless.
His purpose for her was simple: ensuring the Uchiha bloodline would continue for one further generation. It was, he supposed, a gesture of suitable dramatic irony, since he’d slaughtered his entire clan himself.
It was a pity that her genetic contribution was so greatly inferior. He had been a genius in all categories, in addition to possessing massive chakra reserves. Her intelligence was high, but she had no ambition, and her chakra reservoir was pathetically small.
Her only saving grace was that her control was perfect – surpassing even his control. It had been the reason he’d chosen her as the vessel for his heir.
He had murdered his brother, leaving her virtually catatonic. He had kidnapped her and raped her. An advanced mind-control jutsu had robbed her of free will, and left her without choice but to follow his orders. He had controlled the conception, and manipulated the genes and chakra flows to create a male child that would surpass himself.
Into the child had gone his looks, his intelligence, his chakra reserves, his skills in taijutsu and ninjutsu and genjutsu, and his physical potential and definition. From the mother he’d taken her chakra control and her X chromosome – it was all he deemed of worth. He forced the zygote to form, and so she was pregnant.
Forcing chakra through her body while she was pregnant had enhanced the inevitable baby body’s chakra reserves even further. Only the boy who was the Ninetails vessel would have a larger supply.
When his son was born, he’d washed him off, and allowed the mother an hour to hold him. She would not be able to take that memory with her: she’d still been under his control. When the hour was up, he’d relinquished control of her body – and slashed her throat, killing her instantly.
He supposed the Leaf would mourn her absence, but that was irrelevant. She’d been of use to him, and it would not do for her to be around to corrupt the boy he’d forced her to birth.
He’d wrapped her corpse up in blankets, wrapped his son up in similar blankets, and set off for the Leaf. Under the cover of darkness, and out of view of what he considered two extremely pathetic chuunin-level guards, he’d dumped the body, gently placed the baby on the ground, and left a scroll detailing what had been done, and two letters. One was for Tsunade, and one for his son.
It was the perfect plan. In under twenty years, his child would easily surpass him, and they would fight. He would trigger their mutual deaths, and at last the legacy of the Sharingan Eye would be finished with a bang.
Far away from Konoha, Uchiha Itachi smiled for the first time in more than ten years.
***In Genma’s dimension***
The Cursed Wish-granting Plot Device was a powerful artifact. It had been ordered to find a ‘less useless son’. Reading the user’s mind, it found what he meant by ‘less useless’. Seeing nothing like that around, it searched until it found one.
Only granting a wish mattered to the artifact; nothing else was relevant.
Time would tell how much ‘less useless’ Genma would find the new boy to be.
In another lifetime, the child might have grown up to accomplish the purpose it was intended to do. Here, of course, things are much less dramatic.
