Shinji Gattai Godannar: Guided Thoughts (LIME) [Episode 122265]

by Oracle

"Yes! Yes! YES!"

Sitting at her desk in her office, Misato grimaced and hurled her pen across the room, glaring irritably at the large streak of indelible ink arcing across the surface of her current report.

That had been the fourth one today.

Momentarily clenching and unclenching her fist in an unconscious gesture, she finally released her breath in a long drawn out sigh before crumpling the ruined paperwork and shooting it into the overflowing trash can on the other side of the room.

Her frustration was understandable. First she had woken up this morning to find that she had somehow suddenly gone up several cup sizes overnight, then had been faced with the fact that this same phenomenon had apparantly extended not only to the Second Child but to the entire female personnel of NERV. Next had come the news of the transformation of the EVAs, which of course, had necessitated an immediate trip to NERV headquarters itself. Her arrival had promptly been followed by a minor trampling as Asuka had barreled out of the car, which in turn had then been followed by a solid half-hour of continual cursing as she gradually worked her expanded mammaries out from behind the steering column of her Renault. When she had finally succeeded in extricating herself from her car and entering NERV Central, she had discovered a scene of madness, with researchers screaming at the techs, techs screaming at the administrators, and the Second Child screaming at all of the above.

In the end, the task of bringing order to chaos had taken the better part of an hour and a half, and even then she had only succeeded in bringing the raging redhead down to a low roar. She had been spared any further pain, however, by the timely intervention of the chief tech on duty, who had suggested an interfacing test. After gaining assurances from the grizzled old flunkie that the pilots would be unharmed, it had only been the work of a few moments to contact Shinji and Rei and tell them to report for duty, after which Misato had all but fled to her office to bury herself in the normality of paperwork.

At least, that had been the plan.

What she hadn't counted on, however, was the loud chorus of whimpers, grunts, moans, and other familiar sounds that had been steadily carrying through the back wall of her office for the last three hours, breaking her concentration and disrupting her work. Truthfully, this wouldn't have been so bad if that been the extent of it. After all, it certainly wouldn't be the first time NERV headquarters had played host to activities of an intimate nature. Heck, she herself had organized a few of those activities.

No, the problem was that she recognized those whimpers, grunts, and moans.

The simple fact of the matter was that her old friend and college roommate, Ritsuko Akagi was getting some, quite extensively from the sounds of it, and while she was unable to pin down the voice of her partner, the sound of the good doctor's cries carrying through the wall was driving her to the brink of distraction.

"Oh! SEMPPPPAAAAAIIIIIIII!!!!"

Misato blinked.

Okay, that answered that question.

Smirking slightly at her friend's apparent choice of playmates, Misato drove her chair back and kicked her feet up onto her desk, briefly musing on her own experimentation period back in college. They had been limited to brief flings mainly, primarily threesomes that Kaji had somehow talked her into.

Kaji.

Now there was a problem.

Truth be told, Kaji's recent presence at NERV had been somewhat comforting in a way, a nostalgic presence of simpler days, back before they had all gotten embroiled in the chaos that was NERV. On the other hand, it also brought back all the old feelings of anger she had suffered during her ongoing relationship with him, the recurring betrayal she had experienced as she had watching him jump from bed to bed.

If only he hadn't been such an asshole...

...she might have stayed with him,

If only he hadn't been such a playboy...

...she might have loved him.

If only he hadn't come to her bed, night after night, smelling of other women's perfume...

...she might have lusted after him.

If only he had been more caring...

...more considerate...

...more like...

"Shinji..."

Misato flushed heavily and quickly shook herself out of her reverie, unconsiously clenching her thighs together in the process.

This action, of course, just reminded her of the inescapable fact that she hadn't taken an real lover in over two years. For a girl who used to spend more time in bed than in class, this represented not so much a drought as a total climactic shift, and as such, she was understandably frustrated.

The sounds that had been steadily pouring into her office over the last two hours hadn't helped any either.

Maybe if Shinji...

Shaking her head, Misato quickly sat up, chiding herself under her breath. It would never work. She was Shinji's legal guardian, and twice his age to boot. At the very least, pursuing a relationship with him would cost her her job. At the worst, it could cost her Shinji himself.

Ignoring the little niggling voice in the back of her head and resolving that she wouldn't let such a thing happen, no matter what her libido might say, she quickly glanced around for a suitable distraction, anything to keep her mind off those damnable sounds and the thoughts they brought with them. She quickly found it in the form of Shinji's SDAT, which had been inadvertantly rescued from the floor of her car this morning during her lengthy and fanserviceful exit. The slightly battered device didn't do much in the way of taking her mind off of the young Pilot, of course, but, she mused, wincing as another chorus of moans erupted from beyond the wall, it was better than the alternative. Exhaling heavily, Misato reclaimed her discarded pen before picking up the SDAT and popping the earbuds in her ears, flipping the device on and selecting an arbitrary track.

'Hope Shin-chan has something that'll help me keep my mind on my work,' she mused. Not that she really believed that there was any song that could truly capture the convoluted daily logisitics of life at NERV.

Several moments later, the opening chords of 'What If God Was One of Us' began wafting through the air.
