Setsuna's Fault/Hotaru's Sensei: Adding Wood [Episode 122691]

by Kender

If he had been partial to such things, Ranma would have considered some of Minako's attempts to help as a blooper reel. After all, what she was doing didn't seem to be what she meant to do by any leap of the imagination. She obviously was trying to be nice, but he began to wonder if she could do anything that didn't have to do with being friendly. Despite her grace, she was a bit clumsy with some things, and she had a habit of acting before thinking.

Not that she seemed to be treating him like an invalid or something like that, though he was reasonably sure that she would wind up becoming one with some of her activities.

Still, she was a whirlwind of activity, and seemed to be very happy with doing what she was doing. The poking and prodding she was doing was getting on his nerves, but he tried not to get too vocal about his annoyance at times.

Then again, he was wondering if sparing the feelings of Hotaru's friend was worth it...

"Don't touch that," he snapped, "It's a piece of very sensitive equipment."

Minako blinked back at him. "Sorry, but I was looking for a stereo."

"What? Why?"

"I thought that you might like some music, so I brought something other than what you got playing now."

"I like classical music."

"Really? Hmm... Maybe I could cook something..."

"Can you cook?"

"What's to know about it?" she told him, "You just fill up a pot like so... and turn on the stove..."

"That's the oven, and I've cooked plenty of instant stuff before."

"Oh..."

"Maybe I can help," interjected a new voice and the two of them turned to look at the newcomer.

"Makoto!"

"Hello Minako. I thought that I'd step by and see what I could do here."

"You did..?"

"Yeah. And since you are here, we can do it together."

"Pardon me," Ranma growled, "But why not ask me for permission first? I'd like to think that this is my apartment."

"Sorry... Didn't mean to get ahead of myself..."

"Humph. I suppose that you're here to thank me too. And what's with the bags?"

"I'm here to thank you," Makoto confirmed and held up the two bags that she'd been carrying. "One holds what I'm planning on cooking with, and the other has my cleaning supplies."

"Really... And I suppose that you can cook."

That brought a nod from the blonde. "You bet she can! She's the best cook I know... Even if she hasn't been able to teach me as much..."

"It's okay Mina-chan, I'm sure that you'll get it eventually," the emerald eyed girl soothed.

"I hope so..."

"Well, right now, why don't you unpack the bags, okay? I'd like to get started right away."

"Sure!"

"Thanks. This'll help a lot."

He frowned at the both of them. "Just what are you planning on cooking anyway?"

"Something that will taste great, and can be reheated as many times as you like. Nothing fancy, but it should do the job."

"Hmmm?"

"Maybe another time I could bring you some fresh baked cookies, or even make them here. But right now, I figured that I'd start simply."

"Too bad your friend doesn't hold the same belief."

"She's a good person, and does try hard. Though that's a cleaner. Minako, you're getting them mixed up."

"Oops," Minako replied, her face taking on an abashed expression. "Sorry about that."

"That's okay..."

Ranma sighed and wondered just how this would go while:
