"So, Dr. Akagi, how does the salvage work on MAGI-00 appear to be going?" Gendo said to the scientist across his desk from him.
"It seems to be making progress. The proto-type MAGI was compromised by a security attack test and became critically damaged years ago. It still has abilities that we have not fully duplicated in MAGI's 1 thru 3, even in tandem."
"And the plan to fight of it's myriad of infections by have the system run dedicated heroes that fight these programs with the overlay is working as planned?" Gendo clasped his hands in front of the mouth, hiding his small smirk.
"Myu Hiamoto came up with the plan to use the MAGI-00's delusions and a copy of an online game. By having the Heroes 'fight' the monsters in the realms that we put into effect, they have succeeded at reclaiming almost .52% of the system." Dr. Akagi smiled. "Once we have the prototype MAGI linked with the three sisters, we should see a quantum inprovement in their capabilities. This FF LXIX takes up no real resources on a MAGI system. The plan to include the Children in the game as a team building exercise was actually a good plan on Misato's part."
"And the interface kits are using the basis of the sync technology of the EVAs, so that we can improve their ability as pilot without them even realizing it. So instead of boring sync tests, the Children play a game. A carrot instead of a stick. Ingenious. We can even pre-train Children Canidates," Gendo repled. "No matter what happens, we gain considerably in thise. Even if we fail to recover the MAGI-00."
"What of the odd quantum irregularities? They pose a possible compromise of the system by an unknown signal." Dr. Akagi chewed on the end of her pen in though, then jotted down some notes.
"Once we have recovered enough of the MAGI systems to run a diagnostic, I'm sure that we will just discover it to be erronious data. There is no possible 'external' signal that could bypass all of the firewalls that we have there. It is a non-issue."
