Hogwarts, Oh My!: What? Did you think one of Urd's plans would work? [Episode 122844]

by Mad Alchemist

Urd giggled to herself in barely suppressed glee. It was all going so perfectly! Harriet and Hermione would touch the amorotometer and it would show them to be true loves, after that it would all be just a matter of time. Sure, some might think that using a magical device that outright told you who your true love is was cheating, but she was a goddess! If anyone was allowed to use a Deus Ex Machina it was her!

Urd's good mood however, was not to last. She had forgotten one very, very important fact. That never, in her long history of matchmaking and meddling in the love lives of others, had one of her matchmaking schemes turned out the way she had planned. Which is really a shame, since if she had remembered this, then she might not have been quite so shocked by what happened next.

Hermione grabbed the amorotometer with one hand and Harriet's wrist with the other, gently guiding Harriet's hand to the amorotometer.

Sakura, curious about whether it was working or not, took a step closer to get a better look and stumbled slightly on a loose cobblestone. Reflexively, she reached out grabbed the amorotometer to steady herself.

All this occurred before Tomoyo had a chance to let go of the amorotomer.

The four girls who were all touching the amorotometer at the same time, one shocked guardian beast in the form of a plush toy, and a completely stunned chibi-goddess watched as the golden liquid swirled for a moment before flowing up the glass spiral, filling it completely.

"I guess you're right," Harriet said, "It must be broken."

"Of course," Hermione replied, "It must be defective. I mean, there are four of us! And we're all girls. We can't all be each other's true loves. These sorts of things just don't work like that." At least Hermione was pretty sure things didn't work like that. But Tomoyo face had turned an incredibly vivid shade of scarlet and she was staring at both Harriet and Hermoine in disbelief and embarrassment. And Sakura's little guardian seemed to be very shocked too, judging by the way his eyes were bugging out like that. Hmmmm, maybe she was mistaken. Perhaps she should do some research on the subject.

Meanwhile, Urd was staring off blankly into space in stunned disbelief. That was most definitely not what was supposed to have happened! She was supposed to help set Harriet up with her true love. Not her polyamorous lesbian harem! Why couldn't things go easy for her just this once? She needed a drink, no make that a strong drink, several strong drinks in fact. And with that in mind, she flew off to find the nearest pub.
