Yosho stood in front of Washu's Medical tank, staring impassively at the mangled body of his grandson floating within. The muffled sounds of fighting were ignored in favor of the monstrosity before him.
Washu lightly stepped around the tank, tapping a few keys on her computer before dismissing it with a wave of her hand. “Lord Yosho, Tenchi is currently stable. I've been able to shunt his vascular system around the injuries, and he seems to be responding to my nanomeds.” The ever-present hint of mirth was gone from her voice. “He should be completely out of danger sometime in the next thirty-six hours.” Washu rubbed her temples a moment before sighing. “Any idea who did this? Someone that could damage a person with Tenchi's power and training should have at least alerted us to their presence before this.”
Yosho's impassive face slowly drew down into a frown. “Lady Tsunami only said one word when she brought Tenchi here, 'Refugees'. She offered nothing else before vanishing.”
Washu summoned her computer and spent the next few minutes typing in silence. The silence was broken by a beep from her terminal. “Well well, what do we have here?” Yosho turned slightly and speared Washu with an intense look that was mainly ignored. “The only thing that came up in my search of my Archives in reference to 'refugees' and 'colony 0315' is an old reference to a group of people fleeing from something 'The Sailor Wars'. Apparently, they settled this system around ten thousand years ago and setup a system wide 'Moon Kingdom'.” Washu summoned a diagram of the system on a screen behind her. “That endured for a few millennia before something attacked and decimated the solar system, leaving Colony World 0315 as the only planet capable of sustaining life.”
Yosho turned fully to the screen and scowled. “I remember a little of these Sailors from my history lessons. A representative approached the then-Emperor and requested to settle within the boundaries of the Empire.”
Washu nodded. “Caused quiet a stir with the nobles if I remember correctly. Few took kindly to an autonomous government settling within their spheres of influence.”
Yosho turned back to the tank. “But what connection could a dead kingdom have to those that assaulted Tenchi? Even those on this world have forgotten their existence.”
Washu was quiet for a moment before another screen flared into being behind her. “Well Lord Yosho, I was able to retrieve a few images of Tenchi's attackers from his chemical memory before I had to shut his cerebral cortex down to start the Regeneration process.” Yosho stared at the scantily dressed blond woman with a touch of anger in his eyes. Washu continued. “And this is a archive photo of the delegation that was originally allowed to settle here.” Another screen appeared beside the last. Yosho snarled at the group of ten women standing in a Jurain ballroom. Wordlessly, Washu enlarged the picture and zoomed in on one of the women, a fairly athletic short-haired blond.
Yosho spun around at the sharp growl behind him. Ryoko was floating a few inches off the floor and staring at the screen with a murderous glow in her eyes. Her hand reached out and lightly caressed the tube beside her. “Tenchi...”
Washu dismissed the screens with a fast gesture and turned to her daughter. “Ryoko, we don't know...”
Ryoko's face twisted with rage and she roared out, “I will KILL THOSE BITCHES!” Washu lunged forward, trying to restrain her, but her hands met nothing but air as Ryoko faded from existence.
Silence reigned for a moment before Yosho spoke. “Inform my mothers as soon as possible.” He spun on his heel and strode out of the lab.
Washu stood motionless for a moment before sighing. “And I liked this planet.”
