As she was thinking it over, the blonde Slayer noticed Willow mesmerized by a revealing dress displayed proudly on a mannequin behind her Xander-shaped friend. "Found something you like?" she asked, nudging Willow. "I'm glad you're getting into the spirit. You'll definitely get noticed in that!"
"What?" Willow squeaked, blushing as Xander caught on and whistled in appreciation.
"Ah, Urd. Great taste, Will," he said, nodding, smiling goofily. "And it matches Buffy's, too! They must be a set."
"No," Willow exclaimed, crossing her arms in front of her. "No, no, no. Absolutely not! It's so not me. Me and that costume are un-mixy things. I can't possibly wear it!"
"Why not?" Xander asked, frowning. "I think it looks really nice."
"Because...." Blushing furiously, Willow thought of a way to decline, a way to escape her friends' attention. "Because you promised you'd wear what I choose for you, and I choose that for you, and you'll be the one wearing it and there's only one copy of that costume here and I won't be able to have it, which I'm sure I'll regret, though not really." Patting Xander jerkily on his shoulder, she added, "It's all yours."
Buffy gave first Willow, then Xander, a long glance, before shrugging. "Well, Halloween is all about being wild and different...."
Ethan Rayne chose that moment to smoothly approach the trio. "I see you've chosen well," he said, nodding with appreciation. "And might I suggest the third costume of this set for your lovely friend?" he added, holding another costume in front of Willow.
