He wasn’t really certain what had happened.
But to be fair, even the Ginzuishou wasn’t certain what had happened when its power hit him. Sure, it had tried to purify him, and it did for the most part.
‘Most’ being the operative word here.
But when you compare the chaos inherent in Ranma to the amount of power Sailor Moon had used in her attack, the numbers were not good.
So, it had done what it could. It corrected his body first. Wounds from before as well as old aches that had been born before his usual quick healing could deal with them were repaired, which included some scars from the Nekoken training.
Next came the mind, which alone used up a majority of the power the Ginzuishou had in the attack. Mental trauma and fears were removed or repaired. In a way, he could now access the Nekoken willingly and without fear. The only downside would be that the cat personality bits were going to be added to the main Ranma, thus making him act like a cat at times. Useless bits of information and bad ideals (girls are weak, do whatever it takes to upset someone, Pops must know what he’s doing ... sometimes) were removed or corrected. Not only did this new Ranma not believe that girls couldn’t fight, he also didn’t believe that it was wrong for him to hit back now.
This would spell trouble for one tomboy the next time she got angry at him. This would be especially true since Ranma wouldn’t try and upset her now, since his Foot-in-Mouth disease was also gone.
The attack had also added in a set of manners as well as the base requirements for a twelfth grade equivalent education. Of course, since that was being compared to the times of the Silver Millennium, it meant much more. But the attack had also placed blocks on most of that, until Ranma either rediscovered it himself or the need arose.
Knowledge without wisdom is dangerous. With what had been added, the old Ranma would have been very dangerous, mostly because he would have used it for show, or taught someone because he had been tricked into doing so.
This Ranma had patience and an understanding many masters of the Art would have craved.
He had control over mind, body, and soul.
But he also had chaos, and the same ability to become evil that any human had.
It didn’t mean his body would adapt to those energies that struck him and perhaps create the Jakokusuishou. No, that item might become something he might create, but it would never be one that the likes of Wiseman could touch.
The energy had run out before it could remove all evil and chaos from his soul, which included the chaotic energies that made up the Jusenkyo curse. But the effects on his mind did ensure that the curse wasn’t going to be viewed as badly as it had been before. At least it was a human curse and didn’t alter his mind, aside from the ‘how-to’ part that all Jusenkyo victims received so they could manage within their new form.
As he began to walk away from the battle, Ranma paused, looking into the sky, and reaching out an open hand, before clenching it into a fist. “I feel ... I feel like I can do anything I want. I feel ... free.”
Setsuna sighed as she down another shot, remembering what happened next. “Sometimes, it doesn’t pay to survive the bad guys.”
