Dog-Boy: And so it begins [Episode 126160]

by Lost Star

Quiet, that would be the first thought that anyone would have about the shrine. Whether it was the holy feeling of the very grounds, or the apparent isolation, this shrine had a quiet dignity to it that was impossible to deny. The ancient power inherent with every step and tile gave the shrine a sense of peace and tranquility rarely found in modern days. Of course this made the palpable sense of tension even more apparent to any visitors.

Like this one, a figure slowly making its way through the well house door, couldn't help but pause for a time. Seeming to give a sniff, and then shake his head, the figure sped up its walk. Then reaching the house, he jumped onto the windowsill, on the second story of the house. Opening the window, much like the figure had been there all his life, he entered the room. The room itself was a reflection of the innocence of the owner, decorated with light pinks and whites it was the typical room of any teenage girl. The figure shook its head, surveying the room, finding the occupant missing he opened the door and left going down the stairs. The blaring of the TV cut through the silence of the household.

"And the already tense situation is escalating here at what has to be one of the most intense and dangerous hostage situation to date. Over two hundred people are being held hostage at Tokyo Tower. With tempers intensifying and the Terrorists refusing to listen to requests we have a rapidly declining standoff. We now take you to the inside of the tower where a reporter had the misfortune of being held inside when the crisis occurred."

Wondering where everyone was the figure made its way to the living room. Then looking at the family huddled around TV, he understood. There on the TV, looking pale but calm, was a missing member of the family, the one whom the figure had come to get. The only other sound was a gentle swish, and the figure was gone, causing her mother to look up from the TV a single question on her lips, half plea.

"Inuyasha?"

--------------

Thump, thump. He ran, the wind whistling, his long ghostly white hair blowing, every step a mirror reflection of his rapidly beating heart. A living nightmare in his mind. Inuyasha paused his frantic flight atop a skyscraper, looking off into the distance, inhaling long and hard. This was his worst nightmare and fear rolled all into a blur of frantic haste. No matter how many times it happened, no matter how many times he "Let it" happen it was always the same when Kagome was in danger. A frantic, fear filled search for her. Taking deep breaths of air he tried to locate her scent throughout the multitude of others throughout the entirety of this modern era. Grimacing he was able to locate it slightly, as if from a great distance. But that was to be expected, this Tokyo Tower was a fair distance away. He was just thankful that he knew a little bit about the era, enough to find his was to her.

Dashing with inhuman speed, and using the large buildings as stepping stools he was able to get to the skyscraper. Growing slightly in impatience, he surveyed the area. While he had learned much about the modern area, he was still painfully out of his depth, and he knew it. Looking down to the ground, and slowing raking his gaze up the tower, he managed to pinpoint where Kagome was in the tower. The most irritating thing where those flying machines circling around the tower. Luckily the sun was beginning to set, so the probably weren't able to spot him.

Grimacing at the thought of what he was going to do, Inuyasha crouched down, and tensed himself for the right moment, which came when another one of those flying machines began to pass where he needed to be. He jumped then, straight towards it. The backwash of wind nearly threw him off track, but it was possible for him to ignore, more annoying was the loud noise, but swinging himself forward he managed to launch himself against the window, clinging to the concrete below it. Unfortunately that was when the helicopter spotted him.

Ignoring the spotlight illuminating him, he pulled himself up, and rearing back he smashed through the window. What he couldn’t have understood, and probably wouldn't have cared about was that the spotlight had illuminated him from the back, making it impossible to identify anything but his silhouette. When he finally entered the building it was as if an angel had come, or in this case with his eyes flashing red, a demon. Inuyasha didn't pause for reflection, didn't pause for mercy, with the glittering pieces of glass falling around him. He simply moved.

The crowds screamed, and the terrorists panicked, spraying bullets in his general direction. Several of them hit, not as many if they had been aiming, but they hit. And blood splattered everywhere, causing more screaming. But three of the seven terrorists where down amongst the blood, with Inuyasha, looking pristine, standing over them. Looking closer at him you probably would have seen the bullet holes in his body. However with the three down, expressions of horror on their bloody faces the others didn't stand to examine him. They broke, dealing with something beyond their experience they were terrified.

Several lights were broken, the rest flashing sporadically the screaming of terrified people continued, blood was everywhere, and the rest of the terrorists were shooting blindly at Inuyasha, who was actually being careful about their weapons, making sure that they were all on him, and not the spectators. One by one they fell, not gently, not pleasantly, victims of his claws. Amid the terrified spectators and the babbling reporter, to terrified to make sense Kagome stood, calm and serene. She knew what he was doing here, and she saw the ones taken down were still alive, though they would wish they weren't with the injuries. This horror was sadly not new. So she watched calmly waiting for the carnage that was Inuyasha to end, she barely noticed placing a calming hand on the panicked reporter, shocking her out of her fear induced rambling.

Finally there was only one terrorist left, and Inuyasha, again inhumanly quick knocked the blazing weapon out of his hands. Grabbing him by the throat and lifting him up he glared at the struggling human, wondering what to do with him.
