Setsuna's Fault/Kachoo: Ranma's new invention [Episode 127195]

The three inventions that netted him attention to begin with were fairly simple, but they provided the financial basis for him to get to the interesting stuff.

The fire retardant cotton had obvious uses, the patent being sold to Sakuraba Textiles with a little work. By the time that had been confirmed to be as advertised, Ranma had already gotten and sold the second patent. The rubberized asphalt went to the Japanese government for a very low amount, but having established some goodwill with the government would be beneficial down the road.

The third patent, artificial nerve tissue, he held onto but allowed for licensing arrangements and he got his foot in the door because ripples through society about this hot new inventor were in motion from the prior two.

He was receiving the money from the first and second, the third was coming, when Ranma announced what he was working on.

People snickered. Cold fusion. Cheap power. Yeah right.

Then he patented it, six months later. The Saotome Drive.

One year passed while Sailor Pluto tried to get out of a temporal warp. When she exited, things had gotten a little different.


"Ranma Saotome?" said the girl. "Of course I know who he is. What, have you been in a cave the past year?"

"Close enough," said Setsuna. It had taken that long just to figure out that the bonds holding Sailor Pluto didn't affect Setsuna Meiou. When you thought of yourself as Pluto first and Setsuna second, it hadn't been that obvious.
