Misato pulled into the parking lot of a large dome shaped building on the outskirts of Tokyo 3. Her plans were going along smoothly and Shinji was as unsuspecting as ever.
‘Soon, he’ll be in my arms and all will be right with the world. I can just hope that he will enjoy this. I had to pull a lot of strings and call in a lot of favors to get these seats and even to find this place. But it should be worth it.’
Misato hopped out of the car and motioned Shinji to follow her. He quietly did as he was told, as was his way. They walked into the building and straight to the front desk. Shinji started to sweat a little, his imagination started to take over his mind. Misato asked for the reservations of Katsuragi and son. The usher at the front desk quickly bowed and lead them to a balcony where they looked out onto an enormous stage.
Though relaxed from the wine Shinji was still worried and curious. “Misato, where are we and why are we here?”
“Shinji, this is the Tokyo-3 Musical Performing Theater. This where the best musicians in the whole of Japan come to display their talents to the world. This month they are showing an older play with perhaps the best orchestra in the whole of the world. I figured since you are an avid cello player, I thought it would be nice to treat you to this performance.”
“Th -Th -Thank you Misato. What show are we going to see.”
“Not sure. All I know is that it was a huge hit in Europe before the Second Impact. The actual title escapes me at the moment.” She was silenced as the lights had dimmed and the show had begun.
Misato now knew why she had picked to see this show. The story about the poor man whose love was stolen from him by another brought her own feelings of jealousy to full bloom. She thought of Rei and how she had monopolized Shinji’s attention from the beginning. Of Asuka who had stolen Shinji’s first kiss and had kept his confidence down so that she could dominate him. That domination could easily turn to love. She unconsciously wrapped her arm around Shinji’s Shoulders and leaned her head to rest on his shoulder. Shinji squirmed a bit but was so enthralled by the acting and joyous music that he quickly surrendered to the comforting feeling of Misato’s head on his shoulder. She fell into a gently slumber, and when………….
