Hair! Tendrils of black hair slithering out of the well like snakes. And Kagome hated snakes along with other creepies. "The hair is coming after us!" Kagome shrieked.
"Well, well, the old hag was right!" Inuyasha said casually. "Your eyes work well enough."
"You moron!" seethed Kagome. She turned to direct a fiery gaze and heated reply at the dog-boy. "How dare you bring such a horrible thing with you! Idiot!"
"Kagome!"
"What's goin' on!?"
Kagome cursed internally. Her grandfather and little brother were coming. She could hear them some ways off. "Stay out of the well-house! It's dangerous!" she yelled as loud as she could at them, still a football field away. She quickly slid the doors shut, which wouldn't be much help really. I've got to stop it here! she thought.
*STRENGTH RAMP-UP: 100% BATTLE POWER*
The hair was now spewing out from the well in locks after endless locks. They had a life of their own, writhing about, finally focusing on her. They struck out. Kagome dodged, and the bundle of hair slammed against the wall of the well-house. She grabbed the tendril and tore with all her might. It tore with a satisfying rip. "Ewwww! Someone needs shampoo!" She checked on her doggy companion. "Inuyasha! In front of you!"
"Here?!" asked Inuyasha, clawing out in front of him blindly. The tangles of hair fell apart at his claws, but there were many such tangles. Others reached out to grab him even as their comrade's dissolved.
"Kagome!" Mei called to her almost-daughter.
"Open the door, Kagome!" called Grandpa, pounding the door.
"DON'T COME IN HERE, DANGIT!" roared Kagome from inside. They all flinched back.
"C'mon, gramps, she's a superpowerful android. She can hang it," Souta pointed out, moving away from the door with a scared look in his eyes.
"You're right. We should trust her," Grandpa swallowed, scooting away.
"Blast!" growled Inuyasha, tearing away the confining hair bundles as fast as he was able. Given that he couldn't see them, only feel them as they gripped his body, made this task especially difficult. As the strands were torn away, they dropped to the ground, reconstituted, and leapt up again for more.
Kagome was having a better time of it. The tendrils recognized her as a threat as well, and started attacking her. However, she could actually see them, so easily evaded, and tore them up with lightning-quick jabs and chops that sheared them before they could bend. Her oden bowl was balanced atop her head, so she could use both arms.
It's like a Hydra! The more you cut them, the more come out to take their place! There's no end to them! thought Kagome, tearing up another snake of hair. There has to be some way to stop them!
