Sailor Pulp: Moments in Time [Episode 128733]

by Loki-L

It was almost funny to see how the great Celestial Master had fallen for her game and taken exactly the path that Setsuna had wanted him to. Mortals could be so predictable at times and a mortal was what he was compared to the likes of Setsuna.

She only felt a bit apprehensive about the collection of people with limited conscience in the family tree of the future princess of Mercury. But the royal family had always been a fountain of knowledge and wisdom and Setsuna had to set priorities when trying to recreate it. Genius was far more likely to be inherited than being 'evil' and she would just have to limit contact between young Ami and her more morally challenged relatives to a minimum to prevent contamination.

The other Senshi were coming along nicely as well. It was a pity about Endymion's parents, but at least she had arranged it so that he would be found and taken care of by a benevolent government agency instead of being raised by wild animals in the jungle. And because Setsuna was still a romantic at heart she had even endangered the secrecy of her plot by leaving the little amnesic boy a reminder of his heritage and a link to his past. A small ring with the words "Non Sufficit Orbis" engraved on it.

All in all except for some minor points Setsuna's plan was complete and everything she had to do now was sit back and for a decade and await the awakening. The only major set-back during the entire project had been the loss of one of her most promising blood-lines that she had planned to cross into one of royal family trees. It had been a simple case of being to greedy as she had arranged for the lone progeny of the line to meet just one more outstanding male instead of bringing her directly into one of the royal lines.

The Gallifreyian outcast had just been to tempting a target to pass up on and having the girl accidentally meet him to accompany him on his travels for a while had sounded to good of an idea. Unfortunately the moment it looked like the girl had gotten herself impregnated the good doctor had to get lost on an adventure in time and space even beyonds Setsunas ability to follow. When he had returned into the area that she could observe with the gates of time he had had a different companion. Setsuna's only clue was that the girl must have jumped ship at some long ago in the past perhaps even before the fall of the Silver Millennium. She had tried to follow, but one of the restriction of the gates was that she could not manifest herself beyond her own life-time. It was a design feature that was supposed to prevent paradoxes that might result in the user preventing her own birth. An understandable safety mechanism but in this instance it had been very inconvenient as the time-lost girl likely had just been a hairsbreadth out of reach.

But there was little that she could do about that even if she had felt the strangest of connections to the girl. At least her other major bloodlines had worked out without complications and there was little that could go wrong anymore. All she had to do now was to relax and make sure that the cats were released on time from their stasis to guide the reborn Senshi to their destinies.

Yes, Setsuna was at a point when all of her dreams were only a heartbeat away and she was racing with destiny.
