"They are amnesiac, pulled from another reality much as you yourself were, and their bodies are magical constructs with elemental properties," said Garson, looking over his notes. "I was observing during the casting of the spell though and the forms they have did not come from your casting. Rather these are the shapes the animating souls formed those bodies into."
Ranma stared as understanding slowly dawned, the past week having forced him to learn a great deal more about the various underpinings of magic. He understood that and then went off into a trance as he worked out exactly how bad this all was. "Oh crap..."
"All three seek to defeat you in battle, then marry you," said Garson. "You said these girls were from some sort of play or drama you were familiar with. Would there be any reason for them to not want to return to their home reality or be in such condition?"
Ranma began going over the details of "Neon Genesis Evangelion" and how it ended up, though he wasn't exactly an expert on the subject and not seen all the episodes. He had, however, seen the last movie - Nabiki had been going on about various metaphors and underlying meanings and such, he'd not been paying that close attention until the utter wrongness of the whole thing went down and Misato, whom he'd realized was actually trying to fix things, went down.
"That, my apprentice, is screwed up quite royally." Froderick shook his head. "Actually better to be your maids loyally."
"Unless they find that magical lingerie you enchanted last year, Froderick, and never were able to sell," said Garson, "in which case I expect they'll change profession to 'wife' quickly."
"WHAT?! All three of them?!" Ranma was aghast.
"No law against it," said Froderick, "if the fate fits - wear it."
"THREE?!" said Ranma, feeling faint.
"Maybe you ought to make sure those items are locked up, oh dear," said Garson, noting the way a curtain had moved despite lack of air flow.
"I gotta real bad feeling about this," groaned Ranma.
"Well, there may be a way to return their memories to them," said Garson. "Javan's Restorative."
"Other girls in peril are there, whelp?" asked Froderick. "Bring them forth, we could use the help."
Ranma twitched at the idea of doing this to MORE girls. And having them trying to defeat him so they could marry him.
