The ancient threat... was Aion the sinner, thought to have been killed back in the twenties Aion had amassed even more power and a legion of outcast minions to do his bidding.
After years of very little demon activity, the Magdalene Order had gone into obscurity. With little defense against the demon sinner the politicians of America sent pleas around the world.
But only one country answered...
In Japan the news traveled fast, and the elite of the elite answered.
Yohko Mano quickly accepted, Tenchi Masaki also opted to go along with the rest of the gang, The sailor senshi teleported to America to lend their powers, Kagome and a reluctant Inu-Yasha were also sent to the young country. And last but not least Ranma Saotome and the elite of the NWC, meaning Ryoga, and the two old geezers, leaving a very disappointed but worried group back in the land of the rising sun.
Soon after the Aion's forces found themselves under heavy assault by the elite of Japan. Techniques and spells of old were utilized to take down the demons with great success. Until Aion appeared on the field...
In a course of two minutes defenders were being battered and tossed, even the old warriors Cologne and Happosai were badly beaten.
Until... when all hope was lost Kagome used the purified Shikon jewel to power Inu-Yasha's sword ten-fold. However they only succeeded in badly wounding him and the first battle with the sinner was a draw.
After the battle the country quickly began researching on making countermeasures. The Magadalene Order was restablished, but with such advanced training would take time which was not a luxury. Still yet the training began and the warriors from Japan continued fighting Aion's minions.
During the absence of Aion, Ranma began to train in another art... the art of becoming a modern onmyoji. The determined martial artist quickly caught onto the spells and ancient instruments before reaching a bump.
To become a modern onmyoji Ranma would have to master guns. Much to the dislike of the martial artist. Still after much talk and even the agreement of the use of firearms by Cologne and Happosai, Ranma began training to use guns.
In a short period of time Ranma became quite accurate and versatile in the use of firearms, however he still prefered using his hands.
The development of exocising ammo first came out with a .50 caliber magnum clip with a symbol stamped on the head of each bullet inthe order of the spells on ofuda. The ammo was appropriately named "Ofuda" Shortly after Ranma developed a powerful new bullet called the "Mudra" Utilizing the chant of the Nine Cuts Mudra created a powerful bullet. However it took nine hours to make and drained Ranma of much of his spritual energy.
Soon after the development of the "Mudra" Aion came back for round two. The fight was tremendous. New Magdalene exocists and battle hardened Japannese warriors clashed with the demon outcasts. Ranma even utilized his hard formed "Mudra" Wiping out scores of demons... but Aion was just too powerful, and soon the defenders were once again on the ropes, and Aion knocked out Kagome. But pnce again the defenders pulled the sinner into a draw. When Inu-Yasha threw a new bullet developed by Kagome utilizing the pure energies of the Shikon jewel. The new bullet left Aion critically wounded, but not defeated.
That was two months ago and the sinner hasn't shown his face again... yet. The warriors from Japan were all lounging in a room beside a conference room. They called suddenly and the reason had not been said yet.
"Calm down son in law, there will be plenty of time to destroy demons." Cologne said as Ranma paced back and forth.
The martila artist and onmyoji looked up frustration knitting at his brows. "I can't stand it! He hasn't shown his face in a long time, he could attack any second. And we're short-handed the sailor scouts had to go back to Japan for some reason."
"Well worrying about it won't do us any good. Why don't you go chant up a "Mudra" instead of trying to make a trench in the floor." Cologne said looking up from a scroll with an ancient spell on it. She knew it of course, but it didn't hurt to make sure it was ingrained in her mind, it was a valuble spell.
"I've already made two clips worth grandma. Besides the "Mudra" is useless against Aion." Ranma continued pacing. Until the door at the side of the room opened and in came the "Top Brass"
Father Peacemaker was the head of the Magdalene's militia. Sister Holly commanded the second class and below. Sister Holly spoke first.
"Father Peacemaker and I, along with the rest of the order have discussed what your plan Elder Cologne."
All eyes turned to the ancient amazon who nodded her head.
Sister Holly continued. "You're plan is strongly supported by the Magdalene Order and authorize the use of your nanban mirror."
"Nanban Mirror" the Nerimians yelled out. The rest of the group looked on confused.
"What's the nanban mirror?" Yohko asked.
"It's a mirror that will allow people to travel to the past. All it requires is a tear." Cologne replied.
"That's great we can all go back in time when Aion first appeared and destroy him there." Tenchi said.
"Unfortunately, no." Cologne said.
"Huh? Why not old ghoul?" Ranma yelled out. Before a wooden staff slammed onto his head.
"Be quiet son in law and I will explain. After being broken by... you know who." Cologne paused to let the words sneak in and Ranma and Happosai groaned. "The nanban mirror will only be able to take one person. Also the mirror is seriously drained of it's energy, so whoever goes will have to wait at least five years for the mirror to gain enough energy for a return trip."
"So who's going?" Kagome asked.
Cologne looked around, gazing at everyone, "You will have to decide yourself." she finally replied. "Time is of the essence you have five minutes to decide." With that she left the room dragging Happosai, and was soon followed by Father Peacemaker and sister Holly.
The entire group looked at each other, the clock had started.
