[Episode 12988] [Episode 12988]The first day of the epidemic which would be called the "Moreau Flu" was coming to an end. It made and unmade couples on a scale unheard of until now.
In most of the cases, the ones affected were with their spouses or significant others when they succombed to their urges. Married couples went on a new honeymoon so to speak while others 'jumped the gun' in a pre-existent relationship. Urd, the self-proclaimed goddess of Love, would never badmouth science in the presence of her sister Skuld ever again.
For those who were at work or away from their home, relief had to be found with the first willing partner. The virus ensured there would be no shortage of them.
Dr. Moreau worked on his virus for years. It was a real piece of work : It stimulated the libido and mating instincts, scrambled inhibitions like alcohol would, supercharged the body to allow multiple sexual rapports (the flu symptoms were only for show and to avoid discovery) in short times, deactivated any known form of contraception and set off ovulation to ensure pregnancy. It also made the victims immune to sexually-transmitted diseases as long as the virus was active (Moreau didn't want deaths on his conscience, new life on the other hand...).
Its effect on Kiyone Makibi proved it could contaminate near-human metabolisms as well. The aliens residing at Tomobiki could also tell you that but they were busy at the moment.
And so Moreau had to be credited for pushing some people to finally express their feelings to each other.
Kyoko Otonashi and Yusaku Godai, alone at Maison Ikkoku, had been contaminated when a little troll and his two accomplices had bumped on them, trying to steal Kyoko and Akemi's drying panties. When the fever took them, they naturally turned to each other.
Keitaro Urashima had managed to return to Hinata-sou after his wild ride with Ayohko. A hot soak in the springs led to an encounter with Mutsumi Otohime, who didn't faint once thanks to the virus' enhancements, and much wild hot squirrel sex (don't ask) ensued.
Inu-Yasha was immune to the Moreau flu thanks to his youkai heritage. But Kagome was infected for two and had her way with him. He couldn't escape thanks to the 'Sit !' spell she had over him.
Of course, Moreau could also be blamed for destroying couples too.
Keiichi Morisato was working while Belldandy was at the Temple. He tried to resist but ended ravishing his boss Chihiko Fujimi in the room where the spare motorcycle parts are kept.
Athena Asamiya had conveniently forgotten Sie Kensou's existence and had pounced on Shingo Yabuki.
Due to some kind weird side-effect of the virus combined with the Men in Black's poison, Shinichi Kudo and Ai Haibara were transformed back into adults. While celebrating their lucky break, one thing led to another and the two woke up in a Love Hotel later.
But such considerations didn't enter Hiroyuki Moreau's line of thought. His goal was to maximize random couplings to muck up Japan's 'oh so pure' gene pool.
